Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Creamer Helps Women's Soccer Earn 0-0 Draw at Salve Regina

NEWPORT, R.I.—First-year goalkeeper Maisie Cramer (Boulder, Colo.) made a season-high eight saves to help visiting Babson College secure a 0-0 draw with Salve Regina University in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women's soccer action on Wednesday afternoon at Toppa Field.

Babson, which is unbeaten in its last four matches, is now 6-1-5 overall and 5-0-1 in league play. Salve Regina snapped a five-game winless skid and is now 3-8-2 overall and 1-4-1 in the NEWMAC.

First-year Autumn Simon (Sharon, Mass.) also was credited with one save for the Beavers after Creamer was forced out of the game for nine minutes midway through the second half. Sophomore Emelia DaPonte (Marshfield, Mass.) made four first half saves while senior Reagan Moffatt (Denville, N.J.) turned away two shots over the final 45 minutes for the Seahawks.

Sophomore Lillian McAughan (Bellevue, Wash.) had Babson's two best scoring chances of the match, both in the first half. Her blast from inside 10 yards was bobbled by DaPonte at the left post before being cleared out danger in the 25th minute, and Moffatt made a diving stop to deny another rocket from just inside the left corner of the box in the 48th minute.

The Beavers also had a potential go-ahead goal waved off when the offsides flag came up with just under 12 minutes to play.

Cramer kept the game scoreless by coming off her line to take the ball off the foot of sophomore Eilish McGowan (Wrentham, Mass.) in the 34th minute and then raced out to the edge of the six-yard box to deny senior Marissa Tacconi's (Washington Depot, Conn.) attempt on a breakaway in the 60th minute. She also made a sprawling save to push away a blast by Seahawks' senior Sara Wiejkus (Marshfield, Mass.) following a Babson giveaway deep in its defensive third with just over five minutes remaining.

Salve Regina held a slim 14-13 edge in shots and the Beavers finished with a 6-3 advantage in corner kicks.

Both sides return to action on Saturday as Babson hosts No. 15 MIT at 1 p.m., while the Seahawks take on Wellesley at 12 p.m.
