AMHERST, Mass.—The Babson College men's swimming & diving team finished runner-up in four of the 10 events as the Beavers competed against Amherst College in a non-scoring relay dual meet Friday evening at Amherst's Pratt Pool.
Sophomore diver
David Krol (Grafton, Wis.) produced a pair of top-two finishes in the two non-relay events of the evening. He captured first place in the 1-meter diving with a score of 224.17 and finished second in the 3-meter with a score of 229.19.
The Babson contingent of senior
Matthew D'Elia (Old Bridge, N.J.), first-year
Liam Maloney (Tampa, Fla.) and senior
Pat Anutarasoti (Bangkok, Thailand) finished runner-up in the 3x100-yard butterfly relay, clocking in with a time of 2:36.94.
The trio of first-years
Don Crisafulli (Natick, Mass.) and
Thomas Ambelang (Bernardsville, N.J.) and sophomore
Anthony Taslakov (Sherborn, Mass.) came in second in the 3x100-yard backstroke relay, touching the wall in 2:41.26; and the group of sophomore
Chase Stevens (Suffield, Conn.) and first-years
William Iglar (Marietta, Ga.) and
Nathan Huynh (Naperville, Ill.) finished second in the 3x100-yard breaststroke relay in a time of 3:03.01.
The Beavers placed third in four relay events. Ambelang, Huynh, junior
Hawken Hammen (East Lyme, Conn.) and first-year
Tommy Hannenian (Sacramento, Calif.) were third in the 200-medley relay in 1:50.97, and Ambelang, first-year
Nehemiah Rhee (Paramus, N.J.), Taskalov, and Anutarasoti were third in the 200 free relay in 1:31.13.
The Green and White brought home third and fourth place in two freestyle events. In the 500-free relay, Taslakov, Hannenian, Crisafulli and Stevens took third in 4:23.86 and graduate student
Cole Seeger (Lakewood, Ill.), Anutarasoti, and first-years
Ilaan Garware (Pune, India) and
Chengetai Zamchiya (Cheverly, Md.) were fourth in 4:27.27. In the 400-free relay, Taslakov, Hannenian, Rhee and Anutarasoti were third in 3:16.11, and senior
Aidan Downey-Lamprey (Norwell, Mass.), D'Elia, Ambelang and Stevens were fourth in 3:24.01.
The Babson trio of Anutarasoti, Crisafulli and Iglar were also fourth in the 3x100 IM relay in a time of 2:58.29.
The Beavers will be right back in action on Saturday with a home dual meet against Wesleyan at the Morse Pool beginning at 12 p.m.
