GLASSBORO, N.J.—Junior Julianna Giordano (Millville, N.J.) finished with a goal and an assist to help Rowan University defeat visiting Babson College, 3-0, in non-conference women's soccer action on Saturday afternoon at the Rowan Soccer & Lacrosse Complex.
Babson drops to 0-3 on the year with the loss while Rowan improves to 2-0.
Senior goalkeeper
Nora Ryan (Abington, Mass.) finished with five saves for the Beavers, who were shutout for the second consecutive match.
Senior Mackenzie Clement (Mantua, N.J.) and first-year Angela Oliveto (Williamstown, N.J.) each had a goal and senior Calista Burke (Westmont, N.J.) made three saves to record the 25th clean sheet of her career for the Profs.
Rowan went in front in the sixth minute of the match as Clement converted her second penalty kick of the season following a foul inside the box. Oliveto doubled the leads in the 32nd minute when she pushed the ball around Ryan, who came charging off her line, before touching it into the open net to make it 2-0.
Giordano added an insurance marker less than nine minutes into the second half off a restart. She took a pass and dribbled into the box before beating Ryan for her first goal of the year.
Senior
Jordyn Ferrantino (Millis, Mass.) forced Burke to make a pair of saves just before the hour mark and first-year
