No. 3 Field Hockey Welcomes Connecticut College to MacDowell Field on Tuesday Evening

SERIES HISTORY
• Babson is 11-5 all-time against Connecticut College in a series that dates back to 1994.
• The Beavers have won the last seven meetings while outscoring the Camels 34-10.
• The Green and White has also won four straight over Connecticut College at MacDowell Field going back to 2015.

LAST MEETING
• Senior Camille Marsh scored a pair of goals in the 48th and 54th minutes to help seventh-ranked Babson defeat upset-minded Connecticut College, 3-1, on September 5, 2023 at Silfen Field in New London, Conn.
Meara Hanyon '23 M'24 scored the opening in the first quarter and senior Bayla Furmanek finished with one save in the win for the Beavers, who outshot the hosts, 24-9.
• Senior Bridget Mason had a goal and junior Bridget McGann contributed an assist for the Camels, who got 11 saves from sophomore Liz Winemaster in her collegiate debut.

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• Babson (1-0) opened the season with a 4-2 victory over defending Conference of New England (previously Commonwealth Coast Conference) champion Endicott last Friday at MacDowell Field.
• Junior Caroline DiGiovanni posted her first career hat trick and sixth career multi-goal game in the win. Sophomore Ashley Braren added a goal and Furmanek made three saves in goal for the Beavers, who outshot the visitors 23-7.
• The Green and White return seven starters, including an All-American and three All-Region selections, from last year's squad that advanced to the NCAA Tournament Division III Final Four and finished with a 22-2 overall record.
• The Beavers boast five players who produced at least 20 points in 2023 – Marsh (16-5-37), senior Jessica Evans (9-10-28), Sharrow (8-7-23), DiGiovanni (10-0-20) and graduate student Andrea Marguerite (7-6-20).

SCOUTING THE CAMELS
• Connecticut College (0-0), which is making its season debut on Tuesday, is coming off a 6-9 campaign in 2023, the most wins for the program since 2014.
• The Camels welcome back six starters, including two-time NFHCA All-Region second team pick McGann, who led the team in scoring last year with six goals and three assists for 15 points.
• Other returning starters include senior MF Chloe Therrien (0-3-3), senior F Rowan Galanis (2-2-6), junior D Holly Levasseur, and junior MF Katie Dolan.
• Winemaster started in goal all 15 games as a rookie for the Camels, posting a 2.40 goals against average with four shutouts.

HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE
• The Green and White will play just three of their first 10 games on home turf at MacDowell Field.
• Babson has won its last 15 games at home dating back to the start of last season and has won 39 of its last 43 home games since the start of the 2021 season.

NFHCA WATCH LIST
• One player from each team in Tuesday's game was named to the NFHCA Division III Watchlist for the second year in a row on Monday, Sharrow from Babson and McGann from Conn. College.
• The Watchlist is intended to showcase those field hockey student-athletes with the strongest potential for consideration to the current year's NFHCA All-Region and All-American teams.

BABSON VS. THE NESCAC
• Tuesday's matchup vs. Connecticut College is the first of six Babson regular season games this season against schools from the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC).
• The Beavers will also face No. 8 Williams on September 8, No. 9 Bates on September 11, No. 1 Middlebury on September 15, No. 6 Tufts on September 24, and No. 16 Bowdoin on October 9.
• The Green and White went 6-2 against NESCAC teams last season and 4-2 in both 2021 and 2022, with four of the six losses in that span vs. top-ranked Middlebury.

BEAVER BITES
• Babson has won 28 straight night games (starting at 6 pm or later) going back to October 3, 2018 vs. Wellesley.
• Friday's result against Endicott marked the 15th time in the last 16 seasons that Babson has opened the year with a victory.
• Since 2019, the Beavers are 29-7 in the month of September with four of their losses coming against top-ranked Middlebury.

NUMBERS TO KNOW
• The Beavers are 23-1 since the start of last year and 58-1 over the past four seasons when scoring the first goal of the game.
• Babson has won its last 55 games over the past four campaigns when leading at halftime.
• The Green and White are 21-1 since the start of last season when scoring at least two goals and have won 122 straight games since 2014 when scoring at least three times.
• The Beavers finished 20-0 a year ago when holding opponents to one goal or less and have won 86 of 88 contests since 2018 when keeping opponents to fewer than two goals.

• The Beavers will play their next three games on the road, beginning Thursday at Roger Williams at 7 p.m. in Bristol, R.I.
