• No. 4 Babson (3-1, 0-0 NEWMAC) is coming off a 1-0 overtime loss at No. 8 Williams on Sunday, snapping a 15-game regular-season winning streak dating back to a 3-2 setback at No. 1 Middlebury back on September 17 of last season.

SCOUTING THE BOBCATS
• No. 7 Bates (2-0, 1-0 NESCAC) has won its first two games by identical 4-1 scores, winning the season debut at Southern Maine last Tuesday and taking its home opener over No. 25 Trinity on Saturday.
• Senior Maria Femia potted two goals, junior Lucy Norris and sophomore Haley Dwight added one each and senior Anna Cote collected two assists in the win over Trinity. Junior Kaili Jacobsen made one save in goal in the triumph.
• Femia (2-0-4) and Cote (1-2-4) lead the team in scoring through two games, while Norris, Haley, junior Brooke Moloney-Kolenberg, sophomore Sophie O'Sullivan, and first-year Elsa Copeland each have one goal for the Bobcats. Jacobsen (1.00 GAA, 0.333 sv. pct.) has started 20 of the last 21 games dating back to last season.
• Bates had its best season in program history last year, finishing 13-6 after falling to Babson in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
NEWMAC WEEKLY HONOR
• Furmanek was tabbed the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Field Hockey Defensive Athlete of the Week Monday afternoon for the third time in her career.
• Furmanek went 2-1 with a 0.33 goals against average, a .923 save percentage and two shutouts in three starts, including her 23rd career shutout to become the Beavers' all-time leader.
BABSON VS. THE NESCAC
• Wednesday's matchup vs. Bates is the third of six Babson regular season games this season against schools from the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC).
• The Green and White are 1-1 this season after going 6-2 against NESCAC teams last season and 4-2 in both 2021 and 2022.
• The Beavers will also face No. 1 Middlebury on September 15, No. 8 Tufts on September 24, and Bowdoin on October 9.

• Babson is 7-3 since the start of last year against top-20 opponents.
• Since 2019, the Beavers are 31-8 in the month of September with four of the losses coming against top-ranked Middlebury.

• Babson's loss to Williams on Sunday snapped a streak of 22 straight wins when holding opponents to one goal or less and just the third loss in 91 contests since 2018 when keeping opponents to fewer than two goals.
• The Beavers are 25-1 since the start of last year and 60-1 over the past four seasons when scoring the first goal of the game.
• The Green and White have won its last 56 games over the past four campaigns when leading at halftime.
