MEDFORD, Mass.— Junior Max Ettinghausen (Rochester, N.Y.) and sophomore Brooks Hauser (Denver, Colo.) combined for nine goals and No. 4/4 Tufts University scored eight of the 10 goals in the second quarter as the Jumbos went on to knock off No. 11/9 Babson College, 17-11, in non-conference men's lacrosse action on Tuesday evening at Bello Field.
Babson, which had its program-record 10-game winning streak snapped, falls to 11-3 on the season while Tufts won for the seventh time in its last eight games to improve to 11-2.

Connor Karsh (Glenview, Ill.) scored three times to lead the Beavers. First-year
Luke Wang (Simsbury, Conn.) scored two goals and scooped up a team-high five ground balls, senior
Jacob Tauss (San Marcos, Calif.) added a goal and an assist, and junior
Alex Fascilla (Huntington, N.Y.) made 19 saves in goal, his second-most in a game this season.
Ettinghausen scored five times, Hauser had four goals, and sophomores Jack Regnery (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) and Garrett Kelly (Atlanta, Ga.) scored two goals apiece to lead the Jumbos. Junior Joey Waldbaum (Denver, Colo.) caused three turnovers and grabbed four ground balls, senior Connor Garzone (Malverne, N.Y.) and junior Ben Friedman (Newton, Mass.) combined for 12 saves in goal, and junior Parker Merril (Bethesda, Md.) and sophomore Victor Salcedo (Fredericksburg, Va.) combined to win 20-of-29 face-offs in the victory.
After Hauser opened the scoring for the Jumbos, Babson got three straight goals from Wang, Tauss and senior
Ford Carney (Garden City, N.Y.) to open up a 3-1 lead with 5:46 to go in the opening frame. That woke up the Jumbos, who scored six unanswered goals from six different players over the next 13 minutes to take a 7-3 lead midway through the second quarter.
Rainville stopped the bleeding for the Beavers with his first of the game, but Ettinghansen and sophomore Ben Clarke (Wellesley, Mass.) put in back-to-back goals for the hosts as their lead grew to 9-4. Wang tallied his second of the game with 2:19 remaining in the second quarter, but the Jumbos scored twice before halftime and tacked on three more in the first 10 minutes of the third quarter as the lead ballooned to 14-5.
Karsh scored twice in a span of 75 seconds late in the third to pull the Beavers to within 14-7 but the Beavers could get no closer until late in the game. Junior
Max Mallett (Alexandria, Va.) scored once in the fourth quarter, Rainville added a pair of goals and Karsh put in a man-up goal as Babosn scored the final three goals to put the final margin at six goals.
Salcedo won 10-of-14 face-offs and Merril won 10-of-15 to spark the Jumbos to a 22-10 advantage a the center X. Tufts had a narrow 42-41 margin in ground balls and a 54-45 advantage in shots.
Babson returns to New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) contests for its final two regular season games, beginning Saturday at Clark at 3 p.m. in Worcester. Tufts plays its final two games against New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) opponents, beginning Saturday at home against No. 13 Amherst at 1 p.m.
GAME NOTES
• Babson has dropped its last eight games to Tufts and is 4-14 all-time against the Jumbos in a series that dates back to 1979.
• The 17 goals allowed is a season high and the most since the Beavers conceded 20 goals to No. 3 RIT in the third round of last year's NCAA Tournament.
• The Green and White are 2-3 against nationally-ranked teams this season, with wins over No. 6 Middlebury (8-6 on March 10) and No. 9 Bowdoin (13-6 on March 26) in Babson Park and road losses to No. 11 Union (14-13 on February 25), No. 19 Williams (14-13 on March 2) and Tufts.
