Matia Cristiani (San Salvador, El Salvador) and first-year
Chaniel Soffer (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) all collected wins in both singles and doubles as No. 20 Babson College knocked off No. 28 Brandeis University, 6-3, in non-conference women's tennis action Sunday afternoon at the Babson Tennis Courts.
With the victory, Babson stopped a two-match losing skid and improved to 8-4 on the season while Brandeis had a five-match winning streak ended and fell to 8-7 overall.

Mariana Campos (Houston, Texas) also picked up a singles win and senior
Adèle Fernández (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) was on a winning doubles team for the Beavers.
Babson breezed to an 8-1 victory in the marquis number one doubles match as
Olivia Soffer and Cristiani, ranked first in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Northeast Region, defeated sophomore Rebecca Suarez (Huntington, N.Y.) and junior Bhakti Parwani (Ahmedabad, India), who are ranked second in the region.
Chaniel Soffer and Fernández defeated junior Sabrina Loui (Honolulu, Hawaii) and senior Jiayi Zhang (Shanghai, China) at number two, 8-4, before juniors Cecelia Denis and Anastasia Sia (Thessaloniki, Greece) put the visitors on the board with an 8-6 victory over senior
Juliette Moschella (Little Silver, N.J.) and first-year
Dana Kamal (Cairo, Egypt) at number three.
Cristiani, ranked fourth in the region in singles, opened singles play with a 6-0, 6-1 triumph over Zhang at number two,
Chaniel Soffer defeated Sia, 6-4, 6-0, at number four, and
Olivia Soffer, the top-ranked player in the region, clinched the team verdict with a 6-3, 6-0 decision over 13th-ranked Parwani at number one. First-year Lika Bolkvadze (Tbilisi, Georgia) outlasted sophomore
Kamila Stasiowska (Burlington, Conn.) at number three, 3-6, 7-5, 6-4, Campos posted a 6-0, 6-2 win for Babson over first-year Sanjana Kumar (Phoenix, Ariz.) at number six, and first-year Mandy Reyes (Barcelona, Spain) defeated junior
Laetitia Rizk (Beirut, Lebanon) at number five to finish off the match, 6-3, 6-4.
Babson will play its final five matches of the regular season against New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) opponents, beginning Tuesday at Clark at 3:30 p.m. in Worcester. Brandeis will wrap up its regular season at home next Sunday with a non-conference match against Endicott at 11 a.m.
