Laura Lu (Chengdu, China) shot a career-best 1-over 73 and the Babson College women's golf team posted its low score of the season to finish third at Sunday's Vassar Invitational played at Casperkill Country Club.
The Beavers finished the day at 23-over 311 to record its best score of the season by 14 strokes. The Green and White came in third behind Wellesley, which posted a score of 4-under 284, and Wesleyan (305), while the host Brewers placed fourth with a score of 334.
Lu posted her second consecutive top-five finish by tying for fourth position at 1-over par. First-year
Victoria Salim (Semarang, Indonesia) shot a 4-over 76, her best score of the season, to tie for eighth place, while classmate
Rachel Sim (Singapore) grabbed a share of 12th place with a round of 8-over 80.
Junior
Sarah Ji (Wellesley, Mass.) shot an 82 to tie for 17th at 10-over, while first-year
Michelle Guan (Brooklyn, N.Y.) posted an 85 to earn a share of 21st position at 13-over. Junior
Jordyn Ferrantino (Millis, Mass.), playing just her second round of the season, shot an 89.
Babson will play its first 54-hole tournament of the spring when it travels to the Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate in Jacksonville, N.C., beginning on Friday.
