SERIES HISTORY
• Babson is 32-2 against Clark dating back to 1997.
• The Beavers have won 13 consecutive matches against the Cougars since 2013, with four of the last five coming by 9-0 scores.
LAST MEETING
• Five players recorded points in both singles and doubles as No. 23 Babson rolled to a 9-0 win over visiting Clark the NEWMAC opener on March 29 2023 at the Babson Tennis Courts.
• The Beavers took control of the match with three quick victories in doubles.

Martin Mejia cruised to an 8-1 decision at number two, and

Jett Hampton '23 recorded an 8-3 triumph at number three.
• The Green and White swept all six singles matches in straight sets, with the line-up of Weisman at number one, junior
Wesley Zhang at number two, MacDonald at number three, Law at number four, Mejia at number five, and Hampton at number six.
SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• No. 27 Babson (4-7, 1-0 NEWMAC) is coming off a fourth-place finish out of eight ranked teams at the Stag-Hen Invitational last weekend in Claremont, Calif. The Beavers defeated No. 12 Gustavus Adolphus, 4-3 on Friday before suffering 7-0 losses to No. 7 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and No. 4 Case Western Reserve on Saturday.
• The Beavers pulled out the win over Gustavus Adolphus on the strength of singles wins by first-year
Kerem Ozlale at number one, junior
Brady Anderson at number two, and Gonzalez at number three. The Green and White also got doubles wins from Anderson and graduate student
Andrew Watson at number one, and Zhang and first-year
Logan Back at number three.
• Graduate student
Jonah Wilson (11-4), No. 24 in the ITA Division III rankings, leads the team in singles wins, including 4-1 in dual matches, followed by Gonzalez (9-11), Ozlale (9-6) and Watson (7-3).
• Mejia and Back have posted seven doubles wins each to lead the team, and Watson and Wilson each have six victories.
SCOUTING THE COUGARS
• Clark (7-3, 0-1) is back on the court after falling at MIT, 9-0, in the conference opener last Saturday in Cambridge. The Cougars completed a successful spring trip to Hilton Head, S.C., from Match 5-8, picking up wins over Lebanon Valley, Randolph and Buena Vista.
• Junior Ryan Hovey was a double winner for the Cougars in the most recent victory over Buena Vista, claiming verdicts at second singles and first doubles with senior Tanner Honnef. Sophomore Graham Russo (No. 2) and junior Adrian Ramirez (No. 5) were also singles winners, and the tandems of sophomore Edward Shepherd-Johnson/first-year Aris Kirkorian and sophomores Fergus Brady/Jacob Bernstein collected doubles triumphs.
• Hovey (4-8), Russo (4-7), junior Aidan Hurtado (4-5) and Matt Lee (4-5) share the team lead in singles wins and grad student Dariy Vykhodtsev has posted two wins at number one singles. Vykhodtsev and Russo are 6-6 at number one doubles.
• The Cougars finished 4-10 (2-4 NEWMAC) last season and were picked sixth in this year's NEWMAC preseason poll.
BEAVERS SWEEP NEWMAC WEEKLY HONORS
• Babson earned both conference weekly honors on Monday when Ozlale was named singles athlete of the week and the duo of Anderson and Watson were tabbed as doubles team of the week.
• Ozlale went 2-1 with victories at one and two singles, winning at number two against No. 28 Redlands and topping 29th-ranked Marco Siviero of No. 12 Gustavus Adolphus at number one.
• Anderson and Watson went 2-2 at number one doubles, defeating the fourth-ranked tandem from No. 12 Gustavus Adolphus and earning a 7-6 (9-7) triumph in the Beavers' loss to No. 7 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.
CONFERENCE DOMINANCE
• The Beavers have posted a 14-2 regular season record against NEWMAC foes over the past three seasons, and a 49-8 mark going back to 2013.
• The only conference losses in the past 10 years were to MIT (seven times) and Coast Guard (once, in 2022).
• The Green and White won four of their six conference matches last season by 9-0 scores on the way to capturing the regular season title.
NATIONAL CALIBER SCHEDULE
• Babson has played its last seven matches against teams in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) national rankings, including four from the top 10.
• The lone win came last Friday by a score of 4-3 against No. 12 Gustavus Adolphus.
• The Beavers have three more ranked opponents on the schedule next month, No. 24 MIT on April 10, No. 32 Brandeis on April 13, and No. 29 Mary Washington on April 14.

• The Beavers will travel to Coast Guard for a conference dual match next Thursday at 3:30 p.m. in New London, Conn.
