Box Score 2 CLAREMONT, Calif.—The 27th-ranked Babson College men's tennis team split a pair of matches against nationally-ranked opponents on the opening day of the Stag-Hen Invitational hosted by the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges and Pomona-Pitzer College on Friday afternoon.
The Beavers (4-6) defeated 12th-ranked Gustavus Adolphus College, 4-3, in the opening round before falling to No. 7 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, 7-0, in the second round.

Logan Back (Busan, South Korea) 7-6, 6-2 at number six, while Dominik Knutson (Dvur Kralov and Labem, Czech Repbulic) defeated Choi in three sets, 6-4, 2-6, 6-0, at number five to even the match.
Senior
Jose Gonzalez (Mexico City, Mexico) was a 7-6, 7-5 winner for the Beavers over 15th-ranked Gohl at number three, while Gusties' junior Rafael De Camargo Costa (Sao Paulo, Brazil), who is ranked 30th in the ITA singles poll, rallied for a 2-6, 7-6, 7-5 win over Watson leaving the match between Anderson and Christensen at number two as the decisive point. Anderson dropped the opening set and used a second-set tiebreaker to stay alive before delivering the win for Babson with a 4-6, 7-6, 6-3 triumph.

The Beavers dropped the doubles point with losses at number two and three, but Anderson and Watson picked up their second victory of the day outlasting the Stags' duo of Ian Freer (South Pasadena, Calif.) and Matthew Robinson (Wynnewood, Pa.) for a 7-6 (9-7) triumph at number one. Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (8-3) completed the sweep in singles although three of the six matches ended in three sets.
Ozlale suffered a 6-4, 6-1 loss at number to ninth-ranked Advik Mareedu (Yorba Linda, Calif.) and Anderson split the first two sets before dropping a third set breaker in his 6-4, 4-6, 10-4 loss to Freer at number two. Gonzalez fell to Robinson 6-3, 6-1 at number three and Stags' sophomore Warren Pham (Yorba Linda, Calif.) outlasted Choi 6-3, 2-6, 7-5 at number four.
Back dropped a 6-0, 6-0 decision to 23rd-ranked Anirudh Gupta (Irvine, Calif.) at number five and Reznik suffered a 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 loss to Anirudh Reddy (Plano, Texas) at number six.
Babson will wrap up play at the Stag-Hen Invitational against No. 4 Case Western Reserve, the defending Divisinon III national champions, on Saturday at 1 p.m. EDT.
