WHAT TO KNOW
• The Babson men's and women's swimming and diving teams will compete in the final dual meet of the season this Saturday, traveling to Springfield for a 12 p.m. meet.
SERIES HISTORY
• The Babson men have won five of the last six meets against the Pride and are 8-14 overall in the series since 2001.
• The wins by the Springfield women over Babson in the last two years were the first two meets between the two teams since 1997.
LAST YEAR'S MEET (MEN)
• Babson captured seven of 14 swimming events and used superior depth to pull out a 146.5-141.5 victory over Springfield in the final dual meet of the season on February 4, 2023 inside Morse Pool.
• Senior
Joshua Kim led the Beavers with first-place showings in the 50 and 100 yard breaststroke events, combining with classmate
Shogo Kamei for 1-2 finishes in both races, while Kim also finished second in the 200 IM.
• Junior
Pat Anutarasoti tied for first in the 100 free and took second in the 100 fly along with swimming on both winning relay teams. Senior
Nathan Ford and sophomore
Spencer Ernst were also individual winners for the Beavers, Ford outsprinting the field in the 50 yard back and Ernst outlasting the field in the 500 free. Ernst also took second place in the 1000 free and Ford was third in the 100 back.

Aidan Downey-Lamprey out-touching Springfield in the 200 medley relay. The Beavers clinched the victory after taking the final event with the contingent of Anutarasoti, Ford, senior
Blake Albanese, and Downey-Lamprey in the 200 free relay.
LAST YEAR'S MEET (WOMEN)
•
Molly Cox '23 and
Madeleine Green '23 recorded individual victories as the Babson women closed out the regular season with a 170-114 loss to Springfield on February 4, 2023 inside Morse Pool.
• Cox took first place in the 100 back while Green touched the wall first in the 50 back and finished third in the 50 fly. Sophomore
Sophia Sznewajs came in second in both the 50 free and 100 free and classmate
Vangella Randall was the runner-up in the 1000 free.
• Junior
Audrey Daniels added a second-place finish in the 100 breast and also contributed a third-place showing in the 50 breast.
• Sophomore
Emma Chenski came in third in the 50 free, senior
Sophia Swain earned a third-place finish in the 500 free and
Caitlin Caron '23 grabbed a bronze in the 100 back. Senior
Vera Belfonti recorded a third-place result in the 100 fly.
SCOUTING THE BABSON MEN
• The Beavers (4-6) are looking for their second straight win after defeating Bridgewater State, 237-54, in the final home meet back on January 27 inside Morse Pool.
• Ford, Anutarasoti, Ernst, junior

Anthony Taslakov and
David Krol led the Beavers with multiple victories each. Ford was the top performer, winning the 50 free, 100 free and the 100 backstroke, while Anutarasoti brought home victories in the 100 and 200 breaststroke and took second in the 100 fly.
• D'Elia touched the wall first in the 100 and 200 fly and Ernst took top honors in the 500 and 1000 free. Taslakov captured the 200 free and the 200 back. Kim was also a winner, taking first in the 400 IM as well as finishing second in the 200 and 500 free.
• Krol enjoyed an outstanding day on the diving boards, winning the 1-meter event with a program-record 321.35 points and scoring 291.40 to win on the 3-meter board.
SCOUTING THE BABSON WOMEN
• The Beavers (6-6) snapped a three-meet losing skid with a 212-82 victory over Bridgewater State in the final home meet back on January 27 inside Morse Pool.
• Senior
April Kupsky won three events w hile junior
Kendall Garvey, Daniels and Chenski all recorded two wins apiece for the Beavers. Kupsky captured the 200 butterfly, the 200 backstroke and the 400 IM, while Garvey brought home first place in the 1000 freestyle and the 200 breaststroke, Daniels was first in the 100 breast and 100 free, and Chenski captured the 200 free and 500 free.
• Also touching the wall first for the Green and White were Belfonti in the 100 fly, junior
Emily Tran in the 100 backstroke, and first-year
Sylvie Racicot in the 50 free.
• Swain also brought home second place finishes in the 200 fly and 500 free, sophomore
Catherine Curry was runner-up in the 50 free and 100 fly, and first-year
Nicolette Newsome placed second in the 200 back and the 400 IM).
SCOUTING THE SPRINGFIELD MEN
• The Pride (6-5) had a five-meet winning streak snapped in a 135-87 defeat against Amherst on Sunday in the Linkletter Natatorium.
• Sophomore Dan Backlund had a strong meet for the Pride as he won the 50 free, placed second in the 100 fly and led off the winning 200 free relay alongside classmate Viet-Anh Nguyen and juniors Jordon McMillan and Luke Zonghetti.
• First-years Gerold Gutierrez and Zavier Villanueva registered runner-up finishes as Gutierrez finished second in the 400 IM and Villanueva touched the wall second in the 500 free. Gutierrez also placed third in the 100 back.
• Junior Ryan Goolsbey rounded out the swimming highlights for the Pride with a third-place finish in the 100-free. First-year Christian Butler was the lone men's diver of the meet as he posted a 1-meter score of 289.12 and a 3-meter score of 265.20.
SCOUTING THE SPRINGFIELD WOMEN
• The Pride (8-6) had a seven-meet winning streak snapped in a 165-77 defeat against Amherst on Sunday in the Linkletter Natatorium.
• Senior Emma Baumhauer was the lone individual winner for the Pride as she won the 100 back. Springfield also won the 200 medley relay with the team of senior Carolyn Blenk and juniors Nina Lamb, Kay Shen and Erin Kelaher.
• Blenk went on to finish second in the 100 IM, Kelaher finished third in the 50 free, and Lamb took second in the 100 free.
• Senior Elizabeth Athanas posted a runner-up finish in the 100 breast, while sophomore Paige Levine finished third in the 500 free and first-year Natalie Norbut placed third in the 200 free. Senior Megan Crawford took second in both diving events.
GOMPEI INVITATIONAL
• Both Babson and Springfield were participants at the Gompei Invitational at WPI back in December.
• In the combined scoring meet, the Springfield men and women finished third with 3611.5 pts while Babson's teams placed fifth with 3025.5 points.
COMMON OPPONENTS
• Both Babson and Springfield competed in meets this season against common opponents Roger Williams, Coast Guard, Wheaton and Smith.
• On the men's side, both teams lost to Coast Guard and Wheaton, but Babson lost to Roger Williams and Springfield defeated the Hawks.
• The results were the same on the women's side, as both the Beavers and Pride defeated Roger Williams and Smith but lost to Coast Guard and Wheaton.
UP NEXT
• The teams will prepare for the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championships, which will take place from February 22-25 at MIT in Cambridge.
