CAMBRIDGE, Mass.—The Babson College women's swimming & diving squad sits in ninth place through Friday night's competition at the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championships inside MIT's Zesinger Center Pool.
The Beavers have scored 114 points and are just six points back of eighth-place Mount Holyoke. No. 5 MIT is first with 587 points, Springfield is second with 307 and Coast Guard is third with 282 points.
The Green and White qualified one relay team for each of the A and B finals in the 200 free relay. The group of junior

Sylvie Racicot (Arlington, Mass.) brought home seventh place in the A final in a time of 1:39.12, less than a second off the program record set last season, while the quartet of sophomore

Emma Chenski (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) and junior
Kendall Garvey (Wilbraham, Mass.) wound up 16th in the B finals with a time of 1:42.53.
The top Babson team in the 400 medley relay qualified for the A finals, where Tran, Daniels, senior
Vera Belfonti (Orange, Conn.) and Sznewajs finished in seventh place in a time of 4:02.73.
Junior
Elina Sung (Dongguan, China) competed in the 1-meter diving for the Beavers and finished 19th with a score of 220.65 points, contributing two points to the team score.
Garvey turned in a pair of solid performances in her two individual events. She recorded a career-best time of 5:24.90 to place 23rd in the 500 freestyle and touched the wall in 2:16.05 to finish 23rd in the 200 IM. Senior
Sophia Swain (Burnt Hills, N.Y.) also took 27th in the 500 free in a season-best time of 5:27.21
The Beavers had two swimmers record their season best times in the 50 freestyle as Daniels touched the wall in 24.87 seconds to place 21st and sophomore
Sophia Sznewajs (Edina, Minn.) finished in 25.27 seconds to place 26th.
Babson returns to the pool for day three prelims beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
