Vera Belfonti (Orange, Conn.) captured one event and classmate
Sophia Swain (Burnt Hills, N.Y.) recorded a pair of second-place finishes as the Babson College women's swimming and diving team fell to Springfield College, 139-96, in the final dual meet of the season Saturday afternoon inside the Art Linkletter Natatorium.
Belfonti touched the wall first in the 200 butterfly in a winning time of 2:19.80, as the Beavers wind up the regular season at 6-7 in dual meets while Springfield finishes 9-6 in dual meets.
Swain finished runner-up behind Belfonti in the 200 fly in a time of 2:20.75 as well as placing second in the 500 free in a time of 5:44.99. Three other Beavers posted second-place finishes in individual events, and junior
Kendall Garvey (Wilbraham, Mass.) in the 1000 free (11:32.24), sophomore
Emma Chenski (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) in the 200 free (2:04.68) and junior
Audrey Daniels (Santa Monica, Calif.) in the 100 free (56.28).
The Green and White brought home second place in the 400 free relay with the contingent of junior

Nicolette Newsome (Bridgewater, N.J.), sophomore
Catherine Curry (Melrose, Mass.) and Chenski finishing in 3:58.28. The Beavers took third in the 200 medley relay with junior
Maggie Cassily (Rye, N.H.), Daniels, Belfonti and sophomore
Sophia Sznewajs (Edina, Minn.) recording a time of 1:54.24.
The Beavers showed strong depth with third place finishes in seven events. Garvey placed third in both the 200 IM (2:21.87) and 200 breast (2:44.19), Sznewajs took third in the 200 free (2:05.21), Racicot was third in the 50 free (26.09), junior
Emily Tran (Longmeadow, Mass.) came in third in the 100 free (57.15), Cassily was third in the 200 back (2:16.93), and Chenski was third in the 500 free (5:49.13).
The Beavers will return to the pool at the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championships, which will take place from February 22-25 at MIT in Cambridge.
