SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.— Senior Zach Frisk (Long Beach Township, N.J.) registered two goals and an assist as No. 9 Skidmore College defeated Babson College, 3-2, in a New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) men's ice hockey contest Saturday afternoon inside the Saratoga City Rink.
With the loss, the Beavers fall to 1-2-0 overall and 0-2-0 in the NEHC while Skidmore improves to 3-0-0 overall and 2-0-0 in conference play.

Mason Rosado (Weddington, N.C.) made 22 saves in the Beaver goal in the setback.
Sophomore Cooper Rice (Rutland, Vt.) finished with a goal and an assist for the Thoroughbreds, and seniors Will Dow-Kenny (Abbotsford, B.C.) and Zach Lindeworth (Gillette, N.J.) also scored in the win. First-years Evan Brown (Little Silver, N.J.) and Coleman Jenkins (Mansfield, Mass.) produced two assists each, and seniors Danny Magnuson (Sunfish Lake, Minn.) and Kaeden Patrick (Vancouver, B.C.) chipped in with one helper apiece. Junior Joshua Seeley (Detroit, Mich.) made 19 saves in goal to improve to 3-0-0 on the season.
The Thoroughbreds took a 1-0 lead with a power play goal midway through the first period as Patrick slid a pass from the left faceoff circle to Lindewirth in the slot and he ripped a shot past Rosado at 12:56. The Beavers evened the score with 2:51 remaining in the period when George snapped a shot past Seeley from the top of the right circle inside the left post for his third goal of the season, but Skidmore regained the lead less than two minutes later when Frisk poked in a loose puck in front of the Beaver goal for his first of the night, giving the hosts a 2-1 lead after one period.
Frisk extended the Skidmore lead to 3-1 early in the second period with a shot from the edge of the right circle through a screened goaltender at 3:16. The Beavers pulled back to within one goal at 13:04 when McElaney caused a turnover in the neutral zone and then set up Driscoll on a 2-on-1 and Driscoll finished the play at the right post for his second marker of the season.
Skidmore regained the two-goal lead again with 2:08 remaining in the second period when Dow-Kenny rifled a shot from the high slot that beat Rosado inside the left post to make it 4-2 after two. The Thoroughbreds added an insurance goal at 3:40 of the third frame when Frisk made a spinning pass from the left corner to the slot, where Rice buried the shot past Rosado to make it 5-2.
The Thoroughbreds finished with a 27-21 advantage in shots on goal and went 1-for-5 on the power play while Babson was scoreless in two opportunities with the man advantage.
The Beavers return home to host Salve Regina in a NEHC set on Friday (7 p.m.) and Saturday (4 p.m.) at the Babson Skating Center while Skidmore travels to Elmira next weekend for a pair of NEHC games at the same time.
GAME NOTES
• Babson is 38-11-3 all-time against Skidmore in a series that dates back to 1999 but the Thoroughbreds have captured the last five meetings between the two programs.
• The Beavers are 3-for-10 on the power play this season but were held without a PPG for the first time in three games.
• George has at least one point in all three games this season and leads the team in scoring with three goals and two assists for five points.
