BABSON PARK, Mass.— Junior Aidan Connolly (Marshfield, Mass.) scored the go-ahead goal with 1:59 remaining in the third period and Salve Regina University added an empty net goal in a 5-3 victory over Babson College in a New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) men's ice hockey contest Friday evening inside the Babson Skating Center.
The Beavers suffered their third straight loss to fall to 1-3-0 overall and 0-3-0 in conference games, while Salve Regina remains undefeated at 4-0-0 overall and 3-0-0 in the NEHC.

Wyatt George (Mount Lebanon, Pa.) all registered one helper. Junior
Brett Cleaves (Summit, N.J.) made 23 saves in goal in the setback.
Connolly and fellow juniors Jonathan Hammel (Duxbury, Mass.), Walter Baumann (Gates Mills, Ohio) and Logan Calder (Portage la Prairie, Mani.) all registered a goal and an assist for the Seahawks, and senior Kaeden Tenkoppel (Edmonton, Alb.) scored once in the win. First-year Arvega Hovsepyan (Glendale, Calif.) collected two assists and classmates Teddie Hember (Stockholm, Sweden) and Quinn Tavares (Mississauga, Ont.) and senior Hoon Kim (Calgary, Alb.) chipped in with one helper each. Senior Cayden Bailey (Estero, Fla.) made 31 saves in goal to improve to 3-0 on the season.
The Beavers got on the board first with a power play goal midway through the first period as Kramer snapped a wrist shot from the high slot past Bailey on a feed from Dion at 11:10 of the period. The Seahawks evened the score at 14:58 when Hember intercepted a Babson clearing attempt and fired the puck on goal, which was deflected in front by Hammel for his fourth of the season.
The visitors pulled ahead with just 13 seconds left in the opening frame off an offensive zone faceoff. Hovsepyan sent a diagonal pass from the point to Tenkoppel in the left circle, who fired a shot past Cleaves to make it 2-1 after one.
Babson scored the only goal of the second period at the 3:33 mark when Stevens buried a crossing pass from Senier on the right side to send the team to the third period tied at 2-2. The Beavers pulled ahead with a power play goal at 2:37 when Murphy pounced on a rebound in front and finished off his first goal of the season.
Salve evened the score again seven minutes later with a power play of their own when Calder slid a backhanded no-look pass across the crease to Baumann on the left side and he snapped the puck into an empty net to make it 3-3 with 10:11 remaining. Connolly scored the go-ahead goal at 18:01 after Cleaves had made a save on a shot from the point by Kim, but Connolly put in the rebound from the right side. Calder added an empty-net goal with four seconds remaining to seal the win.
The Beavers finished with a 34-28 advantage in shots on goal and went 2-for-5 on the power play while Salve was 1-for-2 with the man advantage.
The two teams will face-off again on Saturday at 4 p.m. inside the Babson Skating Center.
GAME NOTES
• In the first game between the two schools since 2010, Salve Regina posted its first carer victory over the Beavers, who now have a 4-1 lead in the all-time series that dates back to 2002.
• The Beavers scored twice on the power play for the second time this season but have dropped both games.
• The Green and White suffered just their second loss in 16 games (13-2-1) going back to last season when scoring at least three goals.
