SERIES HISTORY
• The Beavers have a 36-18 advantage over MIT in the all-time series that dates back to 1984.
• Babson has won 14 of the last 17 against the Engineers, including seven in a row since MIT defeated the Green and White, 3-2 in overtime, in the 2019 NEWMAC Championship final at MacDowell Field.
• The Beavers have captured the last five games at MacDowell Field since 2021.
POSTSEASON HISTORY VS. MIT
• Babson and MIT will meet for the eighth consecutive NEWMAC Tournament on Saturday and 14th time overall in the NEW 8/NEW 6/NEWMAC playoffs going back to 1989.
• The Beavers are 5-8 all-time in the postseason against the Engineers, with all five of the program's conference tournament championships (2010, 2016, 2021, 2022, 2023) coming with victories over MIT in the final.
• The past seven playoff games against the Engineers since 2016 have been decided by a total of nine goals.
2023 CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

Brianne McGrath '23 M'24 scored in the closing seconds of the first half to break a scoreless tie and second-ranked/top-seeded Babson went on to a 3-1 victory over 20th-ranked/second-seeded MIT on November 4, 2023, at MacDowell Field.

• Sophomore Ingrid Tomovski notched the lone goal for the visitors with an assist from senior Alice Zehner. Sophomore Maeve Zimmer finished with 10 saves in goal in the setback.

Katie Guden scored first-half goals and No. 7 Babson withstood a late push to defeat No. 15 MIT, 2-1, back on October 26 at Jack Barry Field in Cambridge.
• Furmanek made three saves in goal for the Beavers, all three coming in the final two minutes of the game, including one on a penalty stroke with 42 seconds remaining to secure the victory.
• Tomovski scored and senior Faith Choe registered an assist for the Engineers. Zimmer made four saves in goal in the setback.
SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• Top-seeded/seventh-ranked Babson (17-3, 9-0 NEWMAC) brings a 12-game winning streak into the final after blanking fourth-seeded Wellesley, 5-0, in a semifinal contest on Thursday evening at MacDowell Field

Caroline DiGiovanni scored two goals apiece in the win, while Evans added an assist and graduate student

• DiGiovanni (17-4-38) shares the NEWMAC goal-scoring lead and ranks third in points while Evans (14-4-32) is in the top five in both categories. Guden (10-4-24) has five goals and two assists in her last seven outings, and Marguerite (8-6-22) has four goals and three assists in her last seven games.
• Furmanek (0.65 GAA, 43 saves) leads the league in goals against average and shutouts (11) and ranks fifth in Division III in GAA.
SCOUTING THE ENGINEERS
• Second-seeded/15th-ranked MIT (14-4, 8-1 NEWMAC) has won 10 of its last 11 games after edging third-seeded WPI on Thursday evening in Cambridge.
• Junior Bailey McIntyre and senior Eva Oppenheim scored for MIT and Zehner and junior Marisa Montione collected assists. Zimmer stopped four WPI shots to earn the win between the pipes.
• Tomovski (15-9-39) and Oppenheim (15-1-31) are tied for third in the NEWMAC in goals and Tomovski is tied for second in assists. McIntyre (6-8-20) has four goals and four assists in her last five games and sophomore Audrey Oh (8-0-16) is third on the team in goals for the Engineers, who have outscored their opponents 64-17.
• Zimmer (1.06 GAA, 62 svs.) has started all 18 games in goal for MIT and ranks second in the NEWMAC in goals against average.
BUSY BEAVERS
• Evans has tallied four goals and three assists in her last two games and has at least one goal in 11 of last 14 games, totaling 13 goals and three assists in that span.
• DiGiovanni has scored five goals in her last three outings and has produced seven goals in her last five contests.
• Guden has notched at least one goal in seven of her last 10 contests, accumulating seven goals and two assists in that span.
• Marguerite has totaled six points in her last three outings on two goals and two assists.
STIFLING DEFENSE

• The Beavers have surrendered just five goals in their current 12-game winning streak.

BABSON IN THE POST-SEASON
• The Beavers earned the top seed in the NEWMAC Tournament for the ninth consecutive season going back to 2015.
• Babson claimed the 2010, 2016, 2021, 2022 and 2023 NEWMAC Tournament championships and has played in the title game six times in seven seasons going back to 2016.
• The Beavers, who are 4-2 in the championship games going back to 2016, have played their last 15 conference playoff games at home since 2015.

• Babson owns a 68-game NEWMAC regular season winning streak going back to 2015.
• The Green and White have won 41 straight games overall vs. NEWMAC opponents since start of the 2021 season.

FRIENDLY CONFINES
• The Green and White are 9-1 this season on home turf and have won 23 of their last 24 games at MacDowell Field since the start of last season.
• The Beavers are 88-17 at home since the start of the 2015 season.
CLIMBING THE CHARTS
• Evans became the 13th player in program history to reach the 100-point milestone on Thursday, upping her career totals to 38 goals, 25 assists and 101 points. She now ranks 12th all-time in goals and points and 11th in assists.
• Marguerite is right behind Evans with 33 goals, 19 assists and 85 points, ranking 14th in program history in both goals and points.
• Furmanek has etched her name in the Babson record books, setting program records for goalie wins (58) and shutouts (32) and enters Saturday's game ranked first in winning percentage (.866).
• The Beavers have also gotten outstanding career production from Marsh (26g, 12a, 64pts),
Caroline DiGiovanni (32g, 5a, 69pts), and Sharrow (18g, 19a, 55pts).
NUMBERS TO KNOW
• The Beavers are 38-2 since the start of last year and 73-2 over the past four seasons when scoring the first goal of the game.
• The Green and White have won its last 68 games over the past four campaigns when leading at halftime.

• The winner of Saturday's NEWMAC championship game will receive an automatic berth into the NCAA Division III Championships and both teams have the possibility of receiving an at-large berth.
