Babson burst out of the gate with two goals in the first five minutes of the game. DiGiovanni converted a pass by Marsh from the left side into her first goal of the game into the right corner in the fourth minute, and Guden scored just 54 seconds later on a backhander after receiving a pass from Evans on the right side.
Evans extended the Babson lead to 3-0 late in the quarter when she split the defense and made a move around Katzenberg before sliding the ball into an open net for her first of the game. Evans then set up DiGiovanni at the top of the circle early in the second frame as the latter scored on a long-range shot for her second of the game and team-leading 15th of the season as the lead ballooned to 4-0.
Reed got on the board with her first goal of the season on a penalty corner in the 21st minute, deflecting in a shot from the top of the circle by Sharrow. Braren added a highlight-reel goal on a penalty corner in the 25th minute, making a diving deflection of a shot by Powers. Evans rounded out the first-half scoring in the 27th minute, pounding a shot past a fallen Gruener for her second of the game and 12th of the season to make it 7-0 at the half.
Mount Holyoke had the best scoring opportunity in a scoreless third quarter. First-year MJ Owens (Fairfield, Conn.) broke in alone on Furmanek after a Babson turnover but Furmanek made a kick save to her right to keep the visitors scoreless.
Guden rounded out the scoring for the Green and White midway through the fourth quarter, tipping a shot by Shoflick past the keeper in the 53rd minute.
Babson finished with a 25-5 margin in shots, including 17-2 in shots on goal, and had a 12-3 advantage in penalty corners.
The Beavers receive a first-round bye in next week's NEWMAC Tournament and will host a semifinal game on Thursday at MacDowell Field against an opponent to be determined (Time TBA).
