• The Babson College field hockey team will make its fifth straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament second round this weekend in Medford, Mass.
• The No. 7 Beavers will face No. 11 Bates on Saturday at 2 p.m., with the winner advancing to a national quarterfinal game on Sunday.

• DiGiovanni (19-4-42) and Evans (15-4-34) have both reached career highs in goal and points while Guden (11-4-26) gives the Beavers three double-digit goal scorers. Graduate student
Andrea Marguerite (8-6-22) has six career multi-goal games, and Sharrow (6-7-19) and Marsh (6-4-16) are serious offensive threats for the Beavers.
• Furmanek (0.59 GAA, 48 saves) leads all Division III keepers with 13 shutouts and ranks second in the nation in goals against average.
SCOUTING THE BOBCATS

• No. 11 Bates (13-6) registered a 4-1 triumph over Stevens in Wednesday's matchup in Lewiston, Maine, winning an NCAA Tournament first-round game for the second year in a row. The Bobcats fell to No. 3 Tufts in a shootout in last Saturday's NESCAC title game after defeating No. 1 Middlebury in the semifinals, 2-1, at Middlebury.
• Seniors Anna Cote and Anna Lindeis, sophomore Haley Dwight, and junior Brookie Moloney-Kolenberg each scored for the Bobcats in the win over Stevens, one in each quarter, and seniors Maria Femia and Amanda Zerbib and sophomores Amy LaBelle and Elena Agosti collected assists. First-year Ava Donohue made one save in goal in the victory.
• Cote (12-5-29) tops the squad in scoring with Moloney-Kolenberg (8-1-17) and Femia (6-3-15) also strong contributors. Cote has racked up seven game-winning goals for the Bobcats, who have outscored their opponents 43-29.
• Donohue (11-3, 1.17 GAA, 63 saves) has started 14 of Bates' 19 games while junior Kaili Jacobsen (2.25 GAA, 6 saves) has gotten the nod in the other five. They have combined for four shutouts for the Bobcats.

• No. 3 Tufts (16-2) earned a first-round bye after capturing its third NESCAC championship last week with three straight shootout victories over No. 19 Amherst (2-1), No. 3 Williams (3-2) and No. 14 Bates (1-0).
• Junior Lydia Eastburn made just one save in 80 minutes against Bates in the title game and conceded just two goals on five attempts in the shootout. Graduate student Andrea Delgiudice, senior Kylie Rosenquest, and first-year Hannah Murray potted goals on stroke to secure the title for the Jumbos.
• DelGiudice (15-7-37) has four multi-goal games, including a pair of hat tricks, junior Hannah Biccard (8-4-20) has four game-winning goals, and Rosenquest gives the Jumbos three 20-point scorers. Senior Claire Gavin (6-3-15) is tied for third on the team in goals and classmate Kayleigh McDonald (2-6-10) is third on the squad in assists.
• Eastburn (16-2, 0.69 GAA, 42 saves) has started all 37 games for the Jumbos over the past two years and posted four shutouts.
SCOUTING THE PROFS
NCAA Tournament Appearance: 24th

• No. 22 Rowan (15-7), coming off a fourth consecutive NJAC title, opened NCAA Tournament play on Wednesday with a 2-1 victory over No. 16 Ursinus in Collegeville, Pa., its 11th straight triumph.
• Senior Allie Palumbo scored a second-quarter goal for the Profs and first-year Jenna Gray tallied the game-winner early in the fourth. Sophomore Mariah Juiliano made 11 saves in the win, her third double-digit save performance of the season.
• Palumbo (16-6-38) and Gray (14-7-35) both have eight goals in their last eight games and have combined for nine multi-goal outings on the season. Junior Sidney Pavlishin (6-2-14) and sophomore Lily Bataloni (6-1-13) are tied for third on the team in goals and Alexa Ronning (5-5-15) is third in assists and points.
•Juiliano (15-6, 1.39 GAA, 83 saves) has started all 21 games and recorded seven shutouts.
EARLIER THIS SEASON
vs. Bates
• Sharrow tallied a goal and an assist as No. 4 Babson defeated No. 7 Bates, 3-0, in a battle of Top 10 teams on September 11 at Campus Avenue Field in Lewiston, Maine.
• DiGiovanni and junior
Alex Michelotti also scored goals for the Beavers and Evans recorded an assist. Furmanek was not forced to make any saves in goal to earn her third shutout of the season.
• Jacobsen made two saves in the Bates goal but suffered the loss for the Bobcats, who were outshot 9-5 in the contest, including 5-0 in shots on goal.
vs. Tufts
• Gavin scored a pair of goals in the first three minutes of the game and seventh-ranked Tufts went on to a 3-1 win over No. 6 Babson on September 24 at Ounjian Field.
• Evans scored a second-quarter goal for the Green and White and Marsh registered an assist. Furmanek made six saves in the loss.
• Sophomore Reagan Malo also scored for the Jumbos and Biccard recorded an assist. Eastburn made one save in goal for Tufts to register the victory.
NCAA POSTSEASON HISTORY
• Babson has made six of its eight NCAA Tournament appearances since 2016, and advanced to the quarterfinals four times (2016, 2021, 2022 and 2023) and the semifinals twice (2016, 2023).
• The Beavers knocked off Bates (1-0, OT) in last year's second round and Tufts (1-0) in the semifinals in Babson Park before a 3-0 loss to Middlebury in the national semifinals in Newport News, Va.
• Seven of the last eight and 11 of the Beavers' last 14 NCAA Tournament contests have taken place in Babson Park.
TOURNAMENT TESTED
• Sharrow has a goal and three assists, Evans has two goals and Marsh has one in eight NCAA outings over the past three years while DiGiovanni has scored three goals in four NCAA tourney games over the past two years.
• Powers also has eight NCAA appearances since 2021. Marguerite has played in seven games, junior
Sanne van der Goes in six, and Reed in five.
• Furmanek is 4-2 with three shutouts in three years of NCAA Tournament play with 14 saves and five goals allowed.
EIGHT BEAVERS EARN ALL-CONFERENCE HONORS
• Marsh and Sharrow were selected as the NEWMAC Player and Defensive Player of the Year, first-year
Penny Baroni was tabbed Co-Rookie of the Year, and
Julie Ryan and her two assistants were honored as the Coaching Staff of the Year when the NEWMAC announced its postseason awards on Wednesday.
• Marsh and Sharrow were joined on the All-NEWMAC First Team by Furmanek, Evans, and DiGiovanni while Marguerite and Guden earned Second Team accolades.
BABSON VS. RANKED TEAMS
• Babson is 9-5 since the start of last year against top-20 opponents and 5-5 against top-10 foes.
• The Beavers are 9-2 in their last 11 games against ranked teams other than Middlebury.
BUSY BEAVERS
• Evans has tallied five goals and three assists in her last four games and has at least one goal in 12 of the last 16 games, totaling 14 goals and three assists in that span.
• DiGiovanni has scored at least one goal in five straight games with seven goals in that span, and has three two-goal outings in the last seven contests.
• Guden has notched at least one goal in eight of her last 12 contests, accumulating eight goals and two assists in that span.
• Marguerite has totaled six points in her last five outings on two goals and two assists.
STIFLING DEFENSE
• The Babson defense, anchored by Sharrow, Powers, van der Goes, and graduate student
Brooklyn Lamb, has allowed just 13 goals in 21 games this season, with 12 shutouts.
• The Green and White are ranked second in Division III with a team 0.62 goals against average.
• The Beavers have surrendered just five goals in their current 14-game winning streak.
CLIMBING THE CHARTS
• Evans became the 13th player in program history to reach the 100-point milestone last week, and has upped her career totals to 39 goals, 25 assists and 103 points. She now ranks tied for 11th all-time in points, 12th in goals and 11th in assists.
•
Caroline DiGiovanni's 19 goals this season ranks tied for 10th on the progam's single season chart and her 34 goals rank 14th all-time.
• Marguerite is right behind DiGiovanni with 33 goals, 19 assists and 85 points, ranking 15th in program history in goals and 14th in points.
• Furmanek has etched her name in the Babson goalie record books, setting program records for wins (60) and shutouts (34) and currently has the top winning percentage (.870). She has tied her single- season shutout record with 13, ranks fourth with 19 wins, and enters the weekend with the second-best single-season GAA in program history.
• The Beavers have also gotten outstanding career production from Marsh (27g, 12a, 66pts) and Sharrow (19g, 21a, 59pts).
NUMBERS TO KNOW
• The Beavers are 40-2 since the start of last year and 75-2 over the past four seasons when scoring the first goal of the game.
