BABSON PARK, Mass.—First-year
Julia Netishen (Exeter, N.H.) set a new school record in the 50-yard freestyle and was part of four first-place finishes as the Babson College women's swimming & diving team suffered a 153-140 loss to Bentley University on Saturday afternoon inside Morse Pool.
Netishen touched the wall first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.15 to better the previous school mark of 24.31 set by Tirza Rentovich back in 2020. She also came in first in the 100 free with a time of 55.03 and was part of victories in a pair of relay events.

Marta Gershanok (Closter, N.J.) and
Tuana Turhan (Lake Forest, Ill.) in winning the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:51.65, while the quartet of Netishan, Daniels, senior
Emily Tran (Longmeadow, Mass.) and sophomore
Sylvie Racicot (Arlington, Mass.) came in first with a time of 1:40.97 in the 200 free relay.
Turhan joined Netishan in winning a pair of individual events, taking the top spot in the 100 butterfly with a time of 58.89 after besting the field with a time of 2:09.75 in the 200 butterfly. She also was the runner-up in the 200 IM with a time of 2:12.90.
Junior
Vangella Randell (Holden, Mass.) finished second in both the 1000 free (11:42.29) and 500 free (5:40.81), just ahead of senior
Kendall Garvey (Wilbraham, Mass.) in both events. Tran placed second in the 100 back with a time of 1:02.41, Daniels was the runner-up in the 100 breast with a time of 1:11.11 and Gershanok added a second-place result with a time of 2:16.79 in the 200 back.

Elina Sung (Dongguan, China) posted a score of 142.70 to finish as the runner-up on the 3-meter diving board, while first-year
Samantha Gilbert (Arlington, Va.) came in second in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:36.23 and also placed third in the 100 breaststroke. Senior
Maggie Cassily (Rye, N.H.) finished third in the 100 back and 200 back, Racicot took third in the 100 free and first-year
Maryan Guzman (Norwalk, Conn.) added a third-place result in the 100 butterfly.
Babson returns to action next Friday when it travels to WPI for a 5:30 p.m. meet.
