Men’s Swimming & Diving Downs Bentley for First Time Since 2013, 154-126

BABSON PARK, Mass. — Senior Pat Anusarasoti (Bangkok, Thailand), sophomore David Krol (Grafton, Wis.) and first-year Nathan Huynh (Naperville, Ill.) won two events apiece to lead the Babson College men's swimming and diving team to a 154-126 victory over Bentley University Saturday afternoon inside Morse Pool.

With its first win over Bentley since 2013, the Beavers improve to 2-0 on the season while Bentley drops to 1-1 overall.

Anutarasoti captured the 50-free in 21.34 seconds and the 100-fly in 50.78, while Huynh touched the wall first in the 100-breaststroke in 59.19 second and the 200-breast in 2:14.50. Krol was the winner of both diving events, scoring 301.85 points to take the 1-meter and 281.85 to win the high board.

Anutarasoti and Huynh were joined by first-years Dom Crisafulli (Natick, Mass.) and Nehemiah Rhee (Paramus, N.J.) on the winning 200-medley relay team, which finished in 1:35.59; and the contingent of Anutarasoti, Huynh, first-year Tommy Hannenian (Sacramento, Calif.), and Rhee capped the victory by winning the final event, the 200 free relay in 1:27.88.

Sophomore Anthony Taslakov (Sherborn, Mass.) and first-years Liam Maloney (Tampa, Fla.) and William Iglar (Marietta, Ga.) were also individual winners for the Beavers, Taslakov taking the 200 free in 1:47.20, Maloney winning the 200 butterfly in 1:58.36, and Iglar coming in first in the 200-IM in 2:00.62. Taslokov was also runner-up in the 200 IM (2:02.86) and third in the 500 free (5:00.47), Maloney was third in the 100 fly, and Iglar was second in the 100 free (48.7) and third in the 100 breast (1:00.07).

The Beavers got a second-place finish in the 100-back in 55.05 seconds and a third place in the 200-back in 2:01.67 from first-year Thomas Ambelang (Bernardsville, N.J.). Senior Matthew D'Elia (Old Bridge, N.J.) finished runner-up in the 200 butterfly in 1:59.91, and junior Marcelo Carrion (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) took third in both the 200-fly (2:04.49) and 200 IM (2:03.72). First-year Ilaan Garware (Pune, India) placed third in the 1000 free in 10:39.42.
 
The Beavers will make their first road trip of the season to Worcester on Friday for a dual meet at WPI at 5:30 p.m..
