Women's Soccer Plays to 0-0 Draw at Emerson

BOSTON—Senior goalkeeper Nora Ryan (Abington, Mass.) made one save as visiting Babson College settled for a 0-0 draw at Emerson College in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women's soccer action on Wednesday night at Rotch Field. 

Babson, which is unbeaten in four straight matches, is now 4-4-5 overall and 2-1-3 in conference play. Emerson in winless in its last two outings and is 3-5-5 overall and 2-2-2 in the NEWMAC. 

The Beavers dominated the match and finished with a 16-3 edge in shots, which includes an 8-1 advantage in attempts on target. Senior Eliza Diletizia (Canton, Mass.) forced a diving save from Lions' senior goalkeeper Amara Schaub (Torrance, Calif.) in the 16th minute and classmate Emma Mumby (Northborough, Mass.) missed just wide of the left post from inside the six-yard box in the 36th minute following a corner kick and sent another bid to open the scoring just off target after collecting a long ball from first-year Mack Feeney (North Attleboro, Mass.) just before halftime. 

First-year Josie Lee (Duxbury, Mass.) forced Schaub to go to ground to stop her shot from the top of the box in the 61st minute and classmate Lillian McAughan (Bellevue, Wash.) was denied by Schaub in the 68th minute. Junior Meredith Greeley (Ottawa Hills, Ohio) was unable to finish off a chance from the left side of the box in the 80th minute. 

Ryan posted her fifth shutout of the year for the Beavers, while Schaub made nine saves to record her fifth clean sheet for Emerson. 

Both sides return to action on Saturday as Babson hosts Smith at 2 p.m., while Emerson takes on Springfield at 1 p.m. 

GAME NOTES
•    The Beavers are 7-4-3 all-time against Emerson and just one goal has been scored in the last three meetings between the teams in Boston. 
•    Babson, which also ended in a scoreless draw at then-No. 7 Middlebury on Sunday, has played back-to-back 0-0 results in the same season for the first time in program history. The Green and White also recorded consecutive 0-0 draws in its final game of the 2013 season and to open the 2014 campaign. 
•    The Beavers are unbeaten this season (3-0-5) when conceding one goal or fewer. 
•    Babson is unbeaten in its last six road games going back to September 17.
