BABSON PARK, Mass. — First-years
Charlotte Roe (Wayne, Pa.) and
Lilly Goettsche (Glencoe, Ill.) each scored their first collegiate goal and nine different players found the back of the cage as No. 7 Babson College rolled to a 9-0 victory over Saint Joseph's College of Maine in non-conference field hockey action Monday afternoon at MacDowell Field.
The Beavers won for the sixth game in a row and improved to 11-3 on the season while Saint Joe's fell below the .500 mark at 6-7 overall.

Laney Reed (West Chester, Pa.) all chipped in with assists in the victory.
Senior Kassidy Collins (Gardiner, Maine) finished with six saves in 36 minutes between the pipes for the Monks and sophomore Paige DeMascio (Greene, Maine) made one stop in 24 minutes of play. First-year Katie Yeaton (Farmington, Maine) was able to muster the lone shot for the Monks
DiGiovanni opened the scoring on a penalty corner just five minutes after the opening whistle. Powers received the insert and passed to DiGiovanni on the right side and she blasted a shot from just inside the arc that found the cage inside the left post.
Sophomore
Helen DiGiovanni (Harwich, Mass.) hit a backhander from the slot that was kicked away by Collins three minutes later but Guden knocked in the deflection near the left post to double the Babson lead. Marsh pounded home a feed from
Caroline DiGiovanni just inside the right post as the Beavers took a 3-0 lead with 5:37 to go in the opening frame.
Baroni deflected home a shot by Michelotti from the top of the attacking circle early in the second quarter as the lead grew to 4-0. Marguerite took a feed from Reed and fired in a shot from the top of the circle with 9:21 on the second quarter clock and the Beavers took a comfortable 5-0 margin into the intermission.
The Green and White exploded with three goals in less than two minutes early in the third quarter. Marguerite sent Evans in on goal with a lead pass on the right side and Evans buried the shot past Collins. Roe fed Croci from the right side for a goal less than a minute later, and Marsh set up Roe less than a minute after that as the Babson lead ballooned to 8-0 with eight minutes to go in the third quarter.
With many of the reserves in the game, Babson scored its final goal with five minutes to go in the game when Goettsche took a penalty shot and ripped a shot into the left corner of the cage to round out the scoring.
The Beavers return to New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) action when they host Springfield on Saturday at 12 p.m. Saint Joe's returns home to host UMaine Farmington in non-conference play on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.

• The Beavers are 6-0 all-time against Saint Joseph's in a series that dates back to 2019.
• With goals by Roe and Goettsche, 14 different players have scored at least one goal for the Green and White this season.
• Babson won by a score of 9-0 for the fifth time going back to September 23 of last year.
