BABSON PARK, Mass. —The Babson College men's swimming and diving team took first place in all 13 events on the way to defeating Regis College, 183-30, in the first meet of the season Saturday afternoon inside Morse Pool.
With the win, the Beavers start the dual meet season at 1-0 while Regis, which began its season a week ago, drops to 1-1.
First-years
Nathan Huynh (Naperville, Ill.) and
Tommy Hannenian (Sacramento, Calif.) captured two individual events and sophomore
David Krol (Grafton, Wis.) swept the diving events for the Beavers. Senior
Pat Anutarasoti (Bangkok, Thailand) won an individual event and swam on both winning relay teams.
Graduate student
Cole Seeger (Lakewood, Ill.) and first-years
William Iglar (Marietta, Ga.),
Nehemiah Rhee (Paramus, N.J.) and
Thomas Ambelang (Bernardsville, N.J.) were also winners individual events for the Green and White, which finished 1-2 in every race.
Huynh took first place in the 100-freestyle in a time of 50.49 seconds and the 100-breaststroke in 59.40 seconds. Hannenian touched the wall first in the 200-free in 1:49.78 and the 500-free in 5:16.94, and Krol scored 247.70 points to take the 3-meter diving and 299.05 to capture the 1-meter event.
Anutarasoti was the winner of the 50-free in 21.41 seconds while Ambelang finished second in the 50 free (22.42) and first in the 100 backstroke (55.35). Iglar won the 200-IM in 2:02.14 and Rhee captured the 100-butterfly in 53.36 seconds and finished second in the 200 free (1:50.56). Seeger was the winner of the 1000-free in 10:51.46.
First-year
Dom Crisafulli (Natick, Mass.) swam on both winning relay teams and also placed second in the 100-backstroke (55.41). Anutarasoti and Crisafulli were joined by Iglar and sophomore
Chase Stevens (Suffield, Conn.) on the winning 200 medley relay team and by senior
Matthew D'Elia (Old Bridge, N.J.) and junior
Hawken Hammen (East Lyme, Conn.) on the 400 free relay squad.
Junior
Marcelo Carrion (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) and sophomore
Jason Zeliph (Voorheesville, N.Y.) each finished runner-up in a pair of events, Carrion in the 200-IM (2:04.41) and 100 breast (1:03.96) and Zeliph in the 100 free (11:18.89) and the 500 free (5:32.66). D'Elia placed second in the 100 fly (54.21) and Hammen was second in the 100 free (52.23).
The Beavers will be back in the pool with a home meet on October 26 against Bentley at 12 p.m.
