SENIOR DAY
• Babson Swimming and Diving will celebrate Senior Day on Saturday, recognizing its eight men and four women who will be competing in their final home meet inside Morse Pool.
• The senior men include
Blake Albanese, Nathan Ford, Shogo Kamei, Joshua Kim, Oak Kornsri, Maxwell Lussier, Joshua Sellers, and
Max Weygandt, while the women seniors include
Vera Belfonti, April Kupsky, Christina Sung and
Sophia Swain.
SERIES HISTORY
• Babson and Bridgewater State will meet Saturday for the ninth time since 2014-15.
• The Beavers have dominated the all-time series with the men having won 22 straight dual meets, while the women have defeated the Bears in five in a row and 10 of the last 13 meets.
LAST YEAR'S MEET (MEN)
• Babson captured 12 of 14 swimming events and finished 1-2 in 10 races on the way to defeating Bridgewater State, 187-84, on January 28, 2023 at BSU's Moriarty Pool.
• Kim and Albanese and junior
Pat Anutarasoti led the Beaver men with a pair of victories each. Kim won the 50 and 100 backstroke races, Albanese captured 100 breaststroke and the 100 butterfly, and Anutarasoti touched the wall first in the 50 breaststroke and the 500 free.
• Sophomore
Marcelo Carrion had a solid meet for the Beavers, finishing first in the 100 IM and runner-up in the 50 back. Classmate
Spencer Ernst also posted a victory in the 200 free and a third-place in the 50 free. Fellow sophomore
Zackary Cheung captured the 50 free and Ford was the first-place finisher in the 100 free.
LAST YEAR'S MEET (WOMEN)
• Babson won all 14 swimming events and finished 1-2 in 11 races in a 203-87 victory on January 28, 2023 at BSU's Moriarty Pool.
• Kupsky and junior
Audrey Daniels led the Beaver women with a pair of victories. Kupsky took first in the 100 breaststroke and paired with sophomore
Catherine Curry for a 1-2 finish in the 100 fly. Daniels was the winner of the 50 breast, finishing 1-2 with
Angela Li '23. Daniels and Kupsky finished 1-2 in the 100 IM, and Li was also the winner of the 100 free, finishing 1-2 with sophomore
Jenny Chung, who also captured the 200 free.
• Sophomore
Vangella Randell and
Caitlin Caron '23 won the distance freestyle events for the Beavers; Randell came in first in the 500 free and Caron outlasted the field in the 1,650, just ahead of runner-up sophomore
Dahiana Gussoni. Belfonti was the fastest in the 50 fly, just ahead of runner-up
Madeleine Green '23, who also captured the 50 back in a 1-2 finish with Caron.
Molly Cox '23 and sophomore
Sophia Sznewajs rounded out the list of winners for the Beavers, as Cox and Curry finished 1-2 in the 100 back and Sznewajs and sophomore
Emma Chenski were 1-2 in the 50 free.
SCOUTING THE BABSON MEN
• The Beavers (3-6) are looking to get back on track following last Sunday's 168-126 loss to Bentley at the Dana Center Pool in Waltham.
• The Beavers recorded seven first-place finishes, led by two each from Anutarasoti and first-year
David Krol. Anutarasoti touched the wall first in the 50 freestyle with a time of 21.57 and the 100 butterfly with a time of 51.24, while Krol posted his top scores of the season to take first in both the 1-meter (297.52) and 3-meter (305.33) diving events.
• Kim finished first in the 200 IM with a time of 2:01.48, junior
Matthew D'Elia won the 200 fly in a time of 1:59.82 and first-year
Anthony Taslakov posted a time of 1:59.75 to take the 200 back. Taslakov added a runner-up finish in the 100 back, D'Elia took second in the 100 fly and Kim also placed third in the 200 fly.
SCOUTING THE BABSON WOMEN
• The Beavers (5-6) are coming off a 201-87 setback to Bentley last Sunday at the Dana Center Pool in Waltham.
• Three different swimmers recorded a first-place finish for the Beavers as Kupsky won the 200 backstroke in a time of 2:47.43 and Daniels and first-year
Sylvie Racicot tied for first by touching the wall in 26.07 in the 50 free. Kupsky also finished as the runner-up in the 200 fly.

Nicolette Newsome came in second with a time of 11:56.56 in the 1000 free, junior
Emily Tran was the runner-up in the 100 back (1:03.77) and classmate
Elina Sung placed second on the 3-meter diving board and third in the 1-meter diving event.
SCOUTING THE BRIDGEWATER STATE MEN
• The Bears (3-4) had a two-meet winning streak snapped in a 186-89 loss at Bentley on Thursday evening.
• First-year Aaron Fowler captured top honors in the 200 individual medley (2:02.87) and placed second in both the 200 free (1:51.85) and 100 back (57.28) to lead the way for Bridgewater State.
• Sophomore Cooper Sever was the first to touch the wall in the 100 breaststroke (1:04.28). Senior Cooper Castellone finished second in the 100 breast (1:05.09), while seniors Connor Young and Joseph Pervier also placed second in the 1,000 free (10:48.23) and 50 back (27.65), respectively.
SCOUTING THE BRIDGEWATER STATE WOMEN
• The Bears (3-5) are back in the pool after a 189-99 loss at Bentley on Thursday evening.
• Sophomore Cailey Simard placed second in both diving events, scoring 276.53 points on the 1-meter board and 218.85 on 3-meter. First-year Ava Anderson (Lynn, Mass.) placed third on both boards with scores of 178.13 pts. on the low board and 173.25 on the high board.
• Junior Summer Martin also placed third in the 50 breast (37.16) while classmate Brynn Murray was third in the 500 free (6:01.19). Junior Brianna Matte finished third in the 200 freestyle (2:14.42).
NEWMAC DIVER OF THE WEEK
• For the second time this season, Krol was named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Men's Diver of the Week on Monday.
• Krol recorded his top six-dive scores of the season while winning both diving events on Sunday at Bentley. He posted a score of 297.52 on the 1-meter board and finished with a total of 305.33, which was just eight points shy of a school record, on the 3-meter board.
• The Beaver rookie has reached the NCAA qualifying standard by scoring at least 280 points in a meet on two occasions during the season, becoming the first Babson men's diver since Aaron Paradis '10 to reach NCAA post-season competition.
COMMON OPPONENTS
• In addition to losses to Bentley in their last outings, Babson and Bridgewater State have faced several other common opponents this season.
• On the men's side, the ledger is the same as both teams defeated Clark and Brandeis but lost to Wheaton and Roger Williams.
• On the women's side, both teams defeated Clark but lost to Wheaton. The different outcomes were Babson defeated Roger Williams and Brandeis, which were both victorious over Bridgewater State.

• The Green and White squads will wrap up the dual meet portion of the season with a visit to Springfield on Saturday, February 10, at 12 p.m.
