WALTHAM, Mass.—The Babson College women's swimming & diving team was defeated 201-87 by Bentley University in a dual meet inside the Dana Center Pool on Sunday afternoon.
With the loss, Basbon falls to 5-6 on the season. Division II Bentley is now 7-2 with its third straight victory.
Three different swimmers recorded a first-place finish for the Beavers as senior
April Kupsky (Bear Creek, Pa.) won the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 2:47.43, while junior
Audrey Daniels (Santa Monica, Calif.) and first-year
Sylvie Racicot (Arlington, Mass.) tied for first by touching the wall in 26.07 in the 50-yard freestyle. Kupsky also finished as the runner-up in the 200 butterfly, posting a time of 2:20.08.
First-year
Nicolette Newsome (Bridgewater, N.J.) came in second with a time of 11:56.56 in the 1000 free, junior
Emily Tran (Longmeadow, Mass.) was the runner-up in the 100 backstroke (1:03.77) and classmate
Elina Sung (Dongguan, Chaine) placed second on the 3-meter diving board and third in the 1-meter diving event. Additionally, the trio of Tran, Daniels and sophomore
Sophia Sznewajs (Edina, Minn.) paired with senior
Vera Belfonti (Orange, Conn.) to claim second place in the 200 medley relay and Racicot for a runner-up finish in the 200 free relay.

Catherine Curry (Melrose, Mass.) took third place with a time of 1:05.84 in the 100 back and 1:04.64 in the 100 butterfly. Senior
Sophia Swain (Burnt Hills, N.Y.) came in third in both the 200 butterfly (2:23.46) and 500 free (5:44.37), while Daniels added a third-place showing with a time of 57.44 in the 100 free.
Junior
Kendall Garvey (Wilbraham, Mass.) claimed third place in the 200 IM with a time of 2:22.56 and also placed fourth in both the 200 free and 200 breaststroke.
Babson returns to action next Saturday when takes on Bridgewater State in its home finale inside Morse Pool beginning at 11 a.m.
