WHAT TO KNOW
• The Babson men's and women's swimming and diving teams return to competition after a six-week hiatus for final exams, the holidays and a winter training trip to Florida.
• The Beavers will have a tri-meet and three dual meets during the second half of the regular season, beginning this Saturday with a visit to Norton, Mass., for a tri-meet with long-time rival Wheaton along with Connecticut College.
SERIES HISTORY
• The Babson men are 19-11 in the all-time series against Wheaton after the Lyons defeated the Beavers last year to snap a four-meet losing streak.
• The Beavers have not defeated Wheaton since 2001 in the women's half of the meet and are just 6-24 all-time versus the Lyons.
• Saturday's meet will be the first career meeting between Babson and Connecticut College in men's and women's swimming & diving.
LAST YEAR'S MEET
• Senior
Joshua Kim recorded three individual victories as Babson dropped a 154-134 decision at Wheaton on January 14, 2023 inside Balfour Natatorium. Kim touched the wall first in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 59.83, followed it up by winning the 200 backstroke in 1:58.33 and then took first in the 400 I.M. with a time of 4:19.90.
• Junior
Matthew D'Elia came in first in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:01.22 and took second place in the 100 butterfly (53.51), while classmate
Pat Anutarasoti won the 100 fly in a time of 52.05 and finished runner-up in the 50 free (21.99).
• Senior
April Kupsky posted a pair of victories and
Molly Cox '23 finished runner-up in two events but the Babson women fell to No. 22 Wheaton, 206-83, on January 14, 2023 inside the Balfour Natatorium.
• Kupsky touched the wall first in the 200-yard butterfly in a time of 2:16.27 and the 400-yard IM in 4:49.91. Cox finished second in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:00.78 and the 200-yard back in 2:15.00.
SCOUTING THE BABSON MEN
• The Beavers (3-3) are back in action for the first time since placing fifth out of 12 schools in a combined men's-women's scoring event, the Gompei Invitational at WPI on Dec. 1-3.
• Sophomore
Zackary Cheung captured the individual title in the 100 individual medley with a time of 51.92 seconds. First-year
David Krol was the winner of the 1-meter diving with a score of 453.20 and finished runner-up in the 3-meter with a score of 4:34.85.
• Junior
Pat Anutarasoti had an outstanding meet with three second-place finishes and the program record in the 50-yard breaststroke (25.91), recorded in the first half of his second place in the 100 breast (56.35). He was also runner-up in the 50 free (21.05) and 100 fly (49.64).
• Sophomore
Rajkaran Padda led a group of four Babson A finalists in the 50 backstroke, finishing runner-up in a season-best time of 25.27 seconds. Classmate
Spencer Ernst turned in a strong third-place finish in the A final of the 500 free with a season-best 4:45.37, and senior
Nathan Ford finished third in the 100 free with a season-best time of 46.82.
SCOUTING THE BABSON WOMEN
• The Beavers (5-3) are back in action for the first time since placing fifth out of 12 schools in a combined men's-women's scoring event, the Gompei Invitational at WPI on Dec. 1-3.
• Senior
Vera Belfonti had a successful meet for the Beavers at WPI, setting the program record twice in the 50 butterfly (26.60, 26.55) on the way to a fifth-place finish in the A final.
• Sophomore
Sophia Sznewajs had a pair of strong A-final performances, placing fifth in the 100 IM in a time of 1:02.80 and eighth in the 50 fly in 26.80 seconds. Junior
Emily Tran also placed 10th in the 100 IM in 1:04.10.
• Senior
Sophia Swain (Burnt Hills, N.Y.) was a strong competitor with a runner-up finish in the B final of the 50 fly in 27.15 seconds. Senior
April Kupsky brought home a third-place finish in the 200 butterfly in a time of 2:12.87.
MEN'S TOP TIMES
• Anutarasoti has posted the top time for Babson this season in five individual events, the 50 free (21.05), 50 breast (25.91), 100 breast (56.35), 50 fly (22.97) and 100 fly (49.64).
• Ford, Ernst and Cheung have the top times on the team in three events apiece, Ford in the 100 free (46.82), 200 free (1:43.31) and 100 backstroke (51.92); Ernst in the 500 (4:45.37), 1000 (9:51.44) and 1,650 free (16:35.80); and Cheung in the 200 back (2:01.28), 100 IM (51.92) and 200 IM (1:56.58).
• Kim has posted the fastest time in the 50 back (24.61) and 400 IM (4:27.96), while senior
Joshua Sellers owns the best time in the 200 breast (2:05.96) and D'Elia checks in with the fastest performance in the 200 fly (1:57.52).
• Krol has the top scores in the diving events, scoring 288.80 on 1-meter and 252.95 on 3-meter.
WOMEN'S TOP TIMES
• Kupsky has posted the top time for the Beavers this season in six events, the 200 free (2:00.27), 500 free (5:21.07), 200 back (2:12.08), 200 breast (2:33.27), 200 fly (2:12.58), and 400 IM (4:52.65).
• Junior
Kendall Garvey has recorded the fastest time in three events, the 1000 (11:14.13) and 1,650 free (18:45.44) and 200 IM (2:15.60).
• Four Beaver student-athletes have the top times on the team in two events each, Sznewajs in the 100 free (54.03) and 100 IM (1:02.80); Tran in the 50 back (28.08) and 100 back (1:01.41); junior
Audrey Daniels in the 50 breast (32.97) and 100 breast (1:09.60); and Belfonti in the 50 fly (26.55) and 100 fly (1:00.02).

Sylvie Racicot checks in with the top time in the 50 free (25.11) and first-year
