BABSON PARK, Mass.—Junior goalkeeper
Walker White (Coral Gables, Fla.) finished with a season-high six saves to help Babson College earn a 0-0 draw with visiting Suffolk University in non-conference men's soccer action on Tuesday night at MacDowell Field.
Babson, which is now unbeaten in 11 matches going back to last season, and Suffolk are both 2-0-1 on the season.
Junior Xander Balog (Tallahassee, Fla.) turned away three shots for the Rams, who outshot the Beavers 11-4 in the match.
White made his best save of the game in the 17th minute with a quick-reaction stop on junior Matteo Simonini (Rome, Italy) at the left post after his initial shot went off a defender following a corner kick. Suffolk nearly went in front again in the 33rd minute when junior Dominic Rinaldi (Westfield, Mass.) ran onto a long ball from Jack Phelps and touched it past White only to see Babson sophomore
Joao Araujo (Boca Raton, Fla.) clear the ball out danger to keep the game scoreless.
White made five of his seven saves in the second half as Suffolk outshot the Green and White 7-2 over the final 45 minutes. The Rams best scoring chance came in the 71st minute when sophomore Diego Pierantozzi's (Weston, Fla.) free kick from 25 yards glanced off the wall and wide of the right post.
Balog came off his line to snare Beavers' first-year
Will Lloyd's (Lexington, Mass.) bouncing header in the 83rd minute and went to ground to stop graduate student
Justin Stone's (Cary, N.C.) half volley from the top of the box in the 89th minute to preserve the shutout.
Babson returns to action on Friday when it travels to Montclair State at 7 p.m. Suffolk visits Emerson on Saturday at 1 p.m.
