SPRINGFIELD, Mass.—First-year Brooke Jankowski (Methuen, Mass.) and sophomore Angela Hagstrom (Portsmouth, N.H.) earned All-New England honors to lead the Babson College women's track & field team on day two of the NCAA Division III New England Championships Saturday afternoon at Springfield College's Blake Track.
The Beavers scored 10 points in the meet and finished in 22nd place among the 33 schools which scored points. The score is tied for the second highest points total at the NCAA Regionals in program history.
Jankowski, who qualified sixth in the preliminaries of the 100-meter hurdles, finished fifth with a personal-best time of 14.97 seconds to each All-New England honors. Hagstrom placed seventh in the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 1:06.27 for her All-New England accolade.
Jankowski and Hagstrom combined with senior Caroline Reilly (East Greenwich, R.I.) and Chloe Clifford (Marshfield, Mass.) to earn All-New England honors with a fifth-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay in a time of 4:03.85, less than a half-second off their program record of 4:03.37 set last week. The relay team of Reilly, Jankowski, first-year Robyn Wilkes (Atlanta, Ga.), and Hagstrom, finished 11th in the 4x100-meter relay in 49.81 seconds.
Senior Lauren Zatulove (Los Angeles, Calif.) finished 13th in the heptathlon event with a point total of 3,382, a personal-best and the fourth-highest total in program history.
Babson will send a contingent to the NEICAAA Championships next weekend, hosted by Northeastern University.
