SERIES HISTORY
• Babson is 23-13 all-time against Mount Holyoke in a series that dates back to 1989.
• The Beavers have won seven in a row and 16 of the last 17 games against the Lyons since 2004, which includes four straight victories by at least 10 goals.
• The Green and White have won 10 in a row in South Hadley going back to 1999.
LAST MEETING
• Courtney Kaskey '22 and senior Erin Jayne each tallied four goals and one assist and nine different players scored goals, including all three seniors on Senior Day, as Babson blanked Mount Holyoke, 18-0, on April 9, 2022 at MacDowell Field.
• Senior Claudia Dodge recorded two goals and two assists for the Beavers and Brooke Leveillee '22 and sophomore Kathryn Blake also scored two goals each in the win. Sophomore Amelia Novitch notched a goal and an assist, and Gwen Borning '22 tallied her first goal of the year. The Beavers also got 10 draw controls from sophomore Clare Connolly and sophomore goalie Kathleen Murphy made three saves to preserve the whitewash.
• Mount Holyoke got a strong performance from Emma Bowler '22, who made nine saves in her first appearance of the year between the pipes. Allie Brown '22 collected four draw controls while Emma Legacki '22 finished with two draw controls and two ground balls.
SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• Babson (4-6, 2-1 NEWMAC) is looking to get back on the winning track after a 13-5 setback to No. 14 Williams on Wednesday at MacDowell Field.
• Graduate student Emily Curtis finished with four goals and one assist for five points to lead the Beavers. Dodge scored once and led all players with three caused turnovers, Connolly led all players with seven draw controls and Murphy made six saves in the loss.
• Curtis (33-12-45) has scored at least four goals in three straight and six of her last seven games, Jayne (14-17-31) leads the squad in assists, and Dodge (18-4-21) tops the team with 14 caused turnovers. Connolly ranks ninth in Division III with 8.78 draw controls per game.
• Murphy (11.80 goals against average, .406 save percentage) has made double-digit saves in four games this season.
SCOUTING THE LYONS
• Mount Holyoke (3-6, 0-3 NEWMCAC) has suffered three straight losses after a 20-1 setback at Springfield on Saturday.
• First-year Emi Bisson scored the lone goal for the Lyons and collected a season-high seven draw controls. Classmates Amelia Knaysi, Alex Twomey and Elle Mader scooped up two ground balls apiece, and sophomore Emma Tower made eight saves in goal in the loss.
• Bisson (33-15-48) ranks in the top five in the NEWMAC in goals, assists, points and ground balls (36). Junior Hannah Bisson (15-2-17) has been a solid contributor on offense, Knaysi has 33 draw controls and 26 ground balls, and first-year Taylor Dunn has 34 ground balls. Hannah Bisson (16), Knaysi (13), first-year Emma Moore (13) and sophomore Ella Phillips (12) all have reached double figure in caused turnovers.
• Tower (14.56 GAA, .443 sv. pct) has played all nine games in goal for the Lyons.
BABSON VS. THE NEWMAC
• Babson is 42-5 in regular season games against NEWMAC opponents since the start of 2016.
• Seven of the last 11 victories against conference schools going back to last season have been by at least 15 goals.
LEADING THE WAY
• Babson leads the league and ranks 17th in Division III in draw controls per game (17.00)
• Connolly tops the conference individually and ranks ninth in Division III in draw controls per game (8.60).
• Curtis ranks fifth in the NEWMAC in both goals and points and Jayne is fourth in the league in assists.
COMING ALIVE AT THE ARC
• The Beavers have scored 18 free position goals in 27 attempts in the last three games after converting just 12 goals in 42 attempts in their first seven games.
• The success marks a strong turnaround for the Beavers, who ranked seventh in Division III last year converting 56.2 percent of free position shots.
BUSY BEAVERS
• Curtis has scored at least four goals and registered at least five points in six of her last seven games.
• Dodge has scored at least one goal in eight straight games and has picked up at least two ground balls in five of her last six games.
• Connolly has grabbed at least four draw controls in all 10 games this season, with at least nine draw controls five times.
MOVING UP THE CHARTS
• Connolly is sixth on the all-time single season list with 86 draw controls and third on the Babson career list with 169 draw controls.
• Jayne has moved up to fourth on the Babson all-time list with 67 career assists and 18th with 158 points.
