Box Score WELLESLEY, Mass.— Seniors Erin Jayne (Merrimac, Mass.) and Claudia Dodge (Pelham, N.Y.) and first-year Lilly Bedard (Jupiter, Fla.) all tallied three goals and one assist and Babson College had eight multi-goal scorers and 12 goal scorers all together as the Beavers cruised to a 24-0 victory over Wellesley College Saturday afternoon in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women's lacrosse action at Butler Stadium.
With the victory, Babson won its third in a row and fifth in the last six games to improve its record to 7-6 overall and 5-1 in conference play while Wellesley had a two-game winning streak stopped and fell to 4-9 overall and 2-4 in the NEWMAC.
Graduate student Emily Curtis (Walpole, Mass.) also scored three goals, sophomore Kathryn Blake (Medfield, Mass.) contributed two goals and three assists, and sophomores Michaela Downer (North Andover, Mass.) and Nora Lema (Duxbury, Mass.) added two goals and two assists each for the Beavers. Junior Nicole Darveau (Sudbury, Mass.) also scored twice, sophomore Solana Fahey (North Andover, Mass.) was good for one goal and one assist, and senior Anna Katherine Sypniewski (Vero Beach, Fla.) and first-years Tatum Sands (East Dorset, Vt.) and Maria Martignetti (Winchester, Mass.) all chipped in with one goal apiece in the win.
It was another good day on draws for sophomore Clare Connolly (Hanover, Mass.) as she collected a career-high 16 draw controls. Curtis and junior Eileen Manning (Needham, Mass.) caused three turnovers each, and Curtis and Manning picked up four ground balls apiece. Sophomore goalie Kathleen Murphy (Scarborough, Maine) needed to make just two saves to record her second shutout of the season.
Babson outshot Wellesley 15-2 in the first quarter while rolling up a 9-0 lead. Jayne, Dodge and Curtis all had two goals in the frame and Blake, Darveau and Sypniewski notched one goal each. It was more of the same in a 6-0 second quarter as six different Beavers found the back of the net for a 15-0 margin at the intermission.
Bedard scored two of Babson's four goals in the third quarter and assisted on one as well, and Curtis and Blake also scored. The Beavers tacked on the final five goals in the fourth stanza, including a goal and two assists from Downer.
The Green and White finished with a 36-4 advantage in shots and a 22-6 margin on draws. Babson converted 10-of-11 clears and held Wellesley to 6-of-11.
The Beavers play their final non-conference game Tuesday against Roger Williams at 4 p.m. at MacDowell Field. Wellesley is home again on Wednesday against Springfield at 7 p.m.

• Babson has won seven in a row and 18 of their last 20 games versus the Blue and now is 24-21 all-time against Wellesley in a series that dates back to 1987.
• Connolly became the third player in program history to record 200 draw controls, upping her career total to 211.
• The Beavers are 45-5 in regular season games against NEWMAC opponents since the start of 2016.
• The Green and White have won 30 of their last 32 games when holding foes to 10 goals or fewer.
