Women's Track & Field Sets 4x400-Meter Relay School Record, Finishes 6th at Tufts Snowflake Classic

MEDFORD, Mass.—The Babson College 4x400-meter relay team set a new school record and the team recorded five top-three finishes on the way to coming in sixth among 20 teams at the Tufts Snowflake Classic on Saturday afternoon.

The quartet of senior Caroline Reilly (East Greenwich, R.I.), first-year Brooke Jankowski (Methuen, Mass.) and Chloe Clifford (Marshfield, Mass.) and sophomore Angela Hagstrom (Portsmouth, N.H.) took first place in the 4x400-meter relay and cut 2.45 seconds off its previous school record with a time of 4:05.08. Reilly, Jankowski, first-year Robyn Wilkes (Atlanta, Ga.) and Hagstrom also led the Beavers to a first-place showing with a time of 50.59 in the 4x100-meter relay.

Jankowski finished second in the prelims of the 100-meter hurdles with a season-best time of 15.87 and posted a time of 16.07 to take third place in the finals. Wilkes also came in third in the finals of the 100-meter dash following up her time of 12.98 in the prelims with a season-best mark of 12.86. She also placed eighth in the 200 meters with a time of 27.07.

Senior Nicole Johns (Peabody, Mass.) finished fourth in the 10,000 meters with a time of 43:18.48, while Hagstrom came in fifth in the 400-meter hurdles with a season-best time of 1:06.88. Clifford took sixth place with a season-best time of 2:22.74 in the 800 meters, first-year Trista Sicard (Mansfield, Mass.) added a sixth-place result with a leap of 35-feet, 0.50-inches in the triple jump and Jankowski placed seventh in the long jump (16-feet, 2.50-inches).

First-year Ashna Krishnamurthy (Saratoga, Calif.) came in seventh with a result of 34-feet, 4.25-inches in the triple jump and was eighth with a leap of 16-feet, 1-inch in the long jump. Senior Lauren Zatulove (Los Angeles, Calif.) recorded a throw of 74-feet, 8-inches in the javelin, first-year Julia Pike (Mansfield, Mass.) crossed the finish line in 17.76 in the 100-meter hurdles and Reilly posted a time of 27.55 in the 200 meters.

Babson returns to action next Saturday when it travels to New London, Conn., for the Coast Guard Invitational.
