SERIES HISTORY
• Babson and Clark will meet for just the third time on Sunday in a series that began in 2021.
• The Beavers are 2-0 all-time while outscoring the Cougars 36-2.
LAST MEETING
• Senior Erin Jayne scored five times and 14 different players contributed a goal as the Beavers rolled past Clark, 21-2, on April 2, 2022, in Babson Park.
• Junior Nicole Darveau and sophomores Amelia Novitch and Clare Connolly all scored twice, while Jayne and junior Genevieve Bushey were two of three players to force three turnovers for the Beavers, who led 12-1 at the half.
• Claudia Oakleaf and Angela Borelli both had a goal and Jacqueline Faulise contributed four draw controls, three ground balls and three caused turnovers for the Cougars.
SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• Babson (3-5, 1-1 NEWMAC) bounced back from Tuesday's loss at No. 14 Trinity with a 21-9 win over Framingham State on Thursday.
• Graduate student Emily Curtis finished with four goals and two assists, Jayne had three goals and three assists and Novitch scored a season-high four goals for the Beavers, who outscored the Rams 10-2 over the final 22 minutes of the contest.
• Curtis (25-10-35) is averaging 5.80 points over the last five games, Jayne (13-15-28) has registered at least one assist in 15 of her last 16 outings going back to last season and senior Claudia Dodge (15-3-18) has 13 ground balls, 12 draw controls and nine caused turnovers on the year.
• Connolly ranks first in the conference with 64 draw controls, junior Kayleigh Hacker leads the defense with 16 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers and Murphy has posted a 13.09 goals against average and a .412 save percentage in eight starts.
SCOUTING THE COUGARS
• Clark (3-4, 0-2 NEWMAC) is coming off a 21-3 loss to Coast Guard last Saturday.
• Sophomore Meghan Fogarty, classmate Erin Lucas and senior Sophie Didier each had a goal and Maddie Conners stopped nine shots for the Cougars, who were shut out in the second half.
• Senior Kiley Simmons (14-12-26) ranks ninth in the NEWMAC in assists, senior Elizabeth Liakos (17-3-20) has recorded four multi-goal games and Didier (11-5-16) has a point in every contest this spring.
• Fogarty (11-2-13) leads the squad with 35 draw controls and 27 ground balls, junior Mary Greene has 21 ground balls and a team-high 19 caused turnovers and Conners has posted a 15.46 goals against average to go along with a .372 save percentage in six starts.
SUCCESS ON THE DRAW
• Connolly ranks 20th in Division III averaging 8.00 draw controls per game and has secured at least six in six consecutive games, a stretch which includes recording a career high 13 on March 13 against Rhodes and matching that total in last Saturday's loss to MIT.
• Her 147 career draw controls are alredy tied for third on the Beavers' all-time list, which dates back to 1999 when the NCAA started tracking draws as an official stat.
JAYNE JOINS COMPANY
• Jayne became the 19th player in Babson history to surpass 150 career points at Framingham State on Thursday and with 65 assists she needs just two to pass Anita Martignetti '08 and Lexi Lenaghan '19 for fourth place on the Beavers' all-time list.
• She is also one of just five players in school history along with Martignetti, Lenaghan, Jackie Godfrey '09 and Trisha Babson '12 to produce at least 90 goals and 65 assists.
NUMBERS TO KNOW
• The Beavers are 3-0 this season and 15-1 going back to the start of last year when scoring 12 or more goals.
• Babson is 3-1 this spring and 15-2 since the beginning of the 2022 campaign when leading at halftime.
• In their three victories this spring, the Beavers have outscored their opponents 35-14 in the first half.
• The Green and White is 15-4 over the last two seasons when recording at least nine caused turnovers.
