Box Score FRAMINGHAM, Mass.—Graduate student Emily Curtis (Walpole, Mass.) and senior Erin Jayne (Merrimac, Mass.) registered six points each and sophomore Amelia Novitch (Dover, Mass.) contributed four goals as Babson College defeated Framingham State University, 21-9, in non-conference women's lacrosse action Thursday afternoon at Maple Street Field.
With the win, Babson snapped a two-game losing streak and improved its record to 3-5 while Framingham State lost for the third time in its last four games to dip to 4-5.
Curtis scored four goals to go along with two assists while Jayne tallied three goals and three assists to lead the Beavers. Senior Claudia Dodge (Pelham, N.Y.), junior Nicole Darveau (Sudbury, Mass.), and sophomore Solana Fahey (North Andover, Mass.) scored two goals apiece, sophomore Jessica Evans (Southbury, Conn.) tallied a goal and an assist and sophomores Cameron Rabenold (Cincinnati, Ohio), and Kathryn Blake (Medfield, Mass.) and first-year Tatum Sands (East Dorset, Vt.) chipped in with one goal each in the victory.
Sophomore Clare Connolly (Hanover, Mass.) had a strong game for the Green and White with nine draw controls, junior Kayleigh Hacker (Natick, Mass.) scooped up a team-high five ground balls, and sophomore Kathleen Murphy (Scarborough, Maine) made 10 saves in the victory.
Junior Hannah Guerin (Cumberland, R.I.) scored a team-high three goals for the Rams, while junior Rachel Erickson (Dunstable, Mass.) tallied four points on two goals and two assists along with five draw controls. Sophomore Leah Green (Chelmsford, Mass.) notched two goals, sophomore Hailey Baker (Peabody, Mass.) contributed a goal and an assist, junior Maddy Skiff (Granby, Conn.) scored once, and junior Regan Fein (North Attleboro, Mass.) collected two assists in the setback.
After Novitch scored the first goal for Babson a little over a minute in, Guerin tied it up for the hosts five minutes later. The Beavers came alive and rattled off five consecutive goals from five different players to go up 6-1 after one frame.
Erickson scored twice to open the second period to pull the Rams to within 6-3, but Curtis scored on a free-position shot and then set up Jayne for a goal as Babson regained its five-goal lead. Green and Darveau traded goals and the Beavers took a 9-4 lead into the intermission.
Novitch and Dodge scored two of the first three goals of the second half for Babson before Guerin went back-to-back for Framingham to pull the Rams to within 11-7 with 7:48 to go in the third. That's as close as the hosts would get and Babson fired in four consecutive goals, including a goal and an assist each from Jayne and Evans, to extend the margin to 15-7 late in the third.
The Beavers poured on in the final stanza, outscoring the hosts 6-1 the rest of the way. Curtis scored three times and Sands rounded out the barrage with her first career goal for the Green and White.
Babson outshot Framingham 32-25 and won the draw control battle, 19-15. Both teams scooped up 16 ground balls, and the Beavers were 8-of-10 in free position shots while the Rams were just 1-of-4.
The Green and White return to New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) competition on Sunday with a visit to Clark for a 12 p.m. match-up. Framingham State visits Fitchburg State on Saturday for a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) contest beginning at 6 p.m.

• Babson is now 2-0 all-time against Framingham State in a series that started in 2022.
• The Green and White tallied a season-high eight free-position goals, more than the previous three games combined.
