SERIES HISTORY
• Babson is 2-5 all-time against Trinity in a series that dates back to 2002.
• The Bantams have won the last two meetings in 2013 and 2017 since the last Beaver victory in 2008 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, 19-10.
• Tuesday's game will be the fourth in a row in the series to be played in Hartford.
LAST MEETING
• Abby McInerney '18 led all players with four goals and 10th-ranked Trinity closed the first half with an eight-goal run on its way to defeating visiting Babson, 16-5, in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on May 14, 2017 at Sheppard Field.
• Francesca Giovanucci '17 had a goal and an assist, while Emily Bresnahan '17 and Katie McKenna '17, Charlotte O'Halloran '18 and Mairead Williams '18 all scored once for the Beavers. Delaney Carroll '17 finished with two ground balls and two caused turnovers and McKenna led all players with five draw controls.
• Kiley Coffey scored three times and Emma Malicki '17 dished out two assists for the Bantams, which had gone to the national championship game in each of the previous five seasons. Clara Nowlan '18 scooped up three ground balls and led all players with three caused turnovers.
SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• Babson (2-4, 1-1 NEWMAC) is coming off a 17-8 setback to MIT in a NEWMAC encounter last Saturday at MacDowell Field.
• Graduate student Emily Curtis scored four goals and senior Erin Jayne added two goals and one assist to lead the Beavers. Sophomore Clare Connolly matched her career high with 13 draw controls, junior Kayleigh Hacker forced a career-best five turnovers and sophomore Kathleen Murphy made 10 saves in the loss.
• Curtis (19-5-24) is seventh in the NEWMAC with 3.17 goals per game and 4.00 points per game and senior Erin Jayne (7-11-18) is tied for third with 1.83 assists per contest. Connolly tops the league and ranks 27th in Division III with 7.67 draw controls per game. Senior Claudia Dodge (12-2-14) and junior Kayleigh Hacker share the team lead with eight caused turnovers and junior Zoë Michaud has seven.
• Murphy, who has a team-high 12 ground balls, has a 12.96 goals against average and a .412 save percentage in six starts.
SCOUTING THE BANTAMS
• No. 14 Trinity (5-2, 2-2 NESCAC) is looking to bounce back from a 13-7 setback to No. 4 Tufts on Saturday in Hartford, Conn.
• Senior Lily Ives scored four goals to lead the Bantams, who trailed just 9-6 early in the fourth quarter. First-year Molly McGuckin added a goal and an assist and team-highs of three ground balls and three caused turnovers, and senior Elle Fair and junior Caroline Lampert scored once each. Junior Alyssa Vitale (4) and first-year Ali Macdougall (5) combined for nine saves in the loss.
• Ives (22-5-27) is fifth in the NEWCAC with 3.14 goals per game and tied for third with 3.86 points per game. McGuckin (18-5-23) is 11th in goals/game (2.57) and 11th in points/game and sophomore Brooke Kurtz (3-9-12) is fifth in assists/game. Juniors Quincy Connell (11) and Casey Ward (10) are the team leaders in caused turnovers and sophomore Alexa Macaulay (21) and Ward (19) lead the way in draw controls. Vitale (9.86 GAA, .411 sv. pct) has started all seven games in goal for the Bantams.
• Trinity finished 9-7 last year after falling to Tufts in the first round of the NESCAC Tournament.
BABSON VS. THE NESCAC
• Babson is seeking its first win this season vs. the NESCAC after losses to No. 1 Middlebury and No. 10 Wesleyan.
• The Beavers went 1-2 vs. the NESCAC a year ago, defeating Williams after falling short against Middlebury and Wesleyan.
BUSY BEAVERS
• Jayne has recorded at least one point in each of her 35 career games for the Green and White.
• After being held scoreless in the first game of the season, Curtis has scored at least three goals in the last five outings.
• Dodge, who has registered at least two points in four straight games and five of the six contests this spring, has scooped up at least one ground ball in eight straight and 21 of her last 22 games going back to last season.
• Connolly has grabbed at least one draw control in 16 of her last 17 games dating back to last season, and at least four draw controls in 15 of those 17 outings.
MOVING UP THE LIST
• Jayne has moved up to sixth on the Babson all-time list with 61 career assists and 19th with 145 points.
• Connolly is already eight on the Babson career list with 129 draw controls.
NUMBERS TO KNOW
• The Beavers are 15-1 since the start of last season and 45-3 since the start of 2018 when scoring 12 or more goals.
• Babson has won 26 of its last 27 games when holding its foes to 10 goals or fewer.
• The Green and White are 14-2 since last season and 42-3 since the start of 2018 when leading at halftime.
