BRIDGEWATER, Mass.—The Babson College women's track & field team recorded 11 top-five finishes at the Bridgewater State Invitational on Saturday.
The Beavers' top result of the day came in the 4x100-meter relay where the quartet of senior Caroline Reilly (East Grenwich, R.I.), sophomore Angela Hagstrom (Portsmouth, N.H.) and first-years Brooke Jankowski (Methuen, Mass.) and Robyn Wilkes (Atlanta, Ga.) posted a time of 50.41 to finish first. First-year Ashna Krishnamurthy (Saratoga, Calif.) posted the team's top individual result with her runner-up finish in the triple jump thanks to a leap of 33-feet, 11-inches.
Jankowski also came in third in the 100-meter hurdles (16.40) and the long jump clearing 15-feet, 11-inches, and also placed fifth in the high jump. Hagstrom added fourth-place finishes in both the 200 meters (27.09) and 400 meters (1:02.00), while Wilkes was fifth in both the 100 meters (13.03) and the 200 meters (27.11).
Reilly also recorded a pair of top-10 finishes placing eighth with a time of 1:04.14 in the 400 meters and 10th with a time of 28.00 in the 200 meters.
Senior Lauren Zatulove (Los Angeles, Calif.) came in fourth with a throw of 30-feet, 8-inches in the shot put, Krishnamurthy placed fifth with a result of 15-feet, 7.5-inches in the long jump and first-year Trista Sicard (Mansfield, Mass.) finished fifth by clearing 33-feet, 2-inches in the triple jump. First-years Chloe Clifford (Marshfield, Mass.) and Alexandra Kirkpatrick (Middleborough, Mass.) claimed seventh and eighth place, respectively, in the 1500 meters, while fellow rookie Julia Pike (Mansfield, Mass.) posted a time of 17.95 to take ninth in the 100-meter hurdles.
Babson returns to action next Saturday at the Tufts SnowFlake Classic starting at 10 a.m.
