WHAT TO KNOW
• After opening the season at the MIT Invitational and ITA New England Championships, the Babson men's tennis team will host Emerson and Eastern Nazarene for its only dual matches of the fall on Thursday afternoon.
SERIES HISTORY
vs. Emerson
• Babson is 12-0 all-time against Emerson in a series that dates back to 2008.
• Eight of the Beavers' last nine victories over the Lions have been by a 9-0 scoreline.
vs. Eastern Nazarene
• Babson is 2-0 all-time against the Lions in a series that goes back to 2018.
• The Beavers defeated Eastern Nazarene 8-1 in 2018 and 9-0 in the fall of 2019.
SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• Babson (0-0) returns just five players from a team that went 17-3 and was ranked 18th in the final ITA Division III poll last spring.

Brady Anderson (12-8) tied for second on the team in singles victories, classmate
Wesley Zhang was 7-1 and sophomore
Martin Mejia finished the year at 3-3 with a pair of conference wins.
• Anderson went 13-7 overall in doubles with 11 wins at number one, while Zhang was 12-3 with an 8-2 mark at number two.
• The Green and White captured its third NEWMAC regular season title since 2015 last season and advanced to the conference tournament final for the ninth time over the last 10 years in 2023.
SCOUTING EMERSON
• The Lions (1-1) split their first dual matches of the 2023-24 season on Sunday defeating Wentworth, 9-0, in addition to suffering a 5-4 loss to Colby-Sawyer.
• Nocchi Filippo went 2-0 at number one singles, while Seath Keana won both matches at fifth singles and teamed with Noah Mesaros record a pair of victories at number three singles to open the season.
• Emerson went 0-6 in the NEWMAC and 0-13 overall last season.
SCOUTING EASTERN NAZARENE
• The Lions (0-1) got their 2023-24 season underway with a 7-0 loss to Southern New Hampshire last Thursday.
• Franco Milivinti split the first two sets before falling 1-6, 7-6, 4-10 at number one singles, while Javier Bejarano took a one-set lead before dropping a 6-0, 2-6, 8-10 decision at number six singles.
• Iker Rodriguez (13-3) led the team in singles wins, Louis Hernandez won eight times in singles and Milivinti went 8-3 in singles and 11-3 in doubles last year as Eastern Nazarene went 12-6 overall on the way to capturing the program's third straight GNAC Tournament title.
STARTING STRONG
• Graduate students
Jonah Wilson (Arizona State) and
Andrew Watson (Mary Washington) are both 5-2 in singles play this fall.
• Wilson advanced to the quarterfinals of last weekend's ITA New England Championships singles draw as the fourth seed, while both Watson and senior
Jose Gonzalez reached he semifinals of the B singles bracket.
