SERIES HISTORY
vs. Williams
• Babson and Williams will be facing each other for the first time in men's lacrosse.
vs. Middlebury
• Sunday's game will be just the third all-time meeting between Babson and Middlebury, and the first since 1983.
• The Panthers lead the all-time series 2-0, with victories in 1981 (13-11) and 1983 (16-1).
BABSON VS. THE NESCAC
• This weekend's games are the third and fourth of five Babson games this season against teams from the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC).
• Babson defeated Bates, 12-7, back on February 27, and was edged by No. 11 Bowdoin, 11-10, on March 30. The Beavers will also take on No. 8 Tufts on April 19.
• The Green and White have won three of their last 10 against schools from the NESCAC dating back to 2017.
SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• Babson (5-4) is coming off a 17-11 victory over UMass Boston on Wednesday evening at MacDowell Field.
• Junior Chi Chi Price finished with career highs of five goals and seven points to help lead Babson. Price has recorded four straight multi-goal games and has produced nine goals and four assists for 13 points over the last two contests.
• First-year Colt Bordonaro scored three times and sophomores Grey Sunderland and Topher Bower both finished with two goals for the Beavers. Sunderland won 15-of-27 face-offs, sophomore Brendan Maher contributed season highs of six ground balls and four caused turnovers, and Price and senior Drew Thomas each added three caused turnovers in the win.
• Price (19-8-27), Bower (11-9-20), graduate student Lee Sipes (12-6-18), and junior Matt Stucchi (11-6-17) lead the team in scoring. Sunderland has won 100-of-117 face-offs and leads the team with 52 ground balls. Thomas (15 caused turnovers, 16 GB), junior Kyle Sanborn (9 CT, 20 GB) and sophomore Brendan Maher (9 CT, 12 GB) are the top long-pole defenders.
• Senior Mac Mowat (.564 sv. pct., 8.30 GAA) ranks 28th in Division III in goals against average.
SCOUTING THE EPHS
• No. 18 USILA/No. 15 Inside Lacrosse Williams (5-4) is looking to get back in the winning column after suffering a 19-10 loss to No. 8/8 Tufts on Wednesday. All four of the Eph losses have come at the hands of Top-10 teams (No. 4/3 Union, No. 7/7 Bowdoin, No. 2/2 Christopher Newport, and No. 8/8 Tufts).
• Senior Jake Haase led the Ephs with five points against Tufts on two goals and three assists, while sophomore Calvin Caputo added a pair of goals. Senior Chris Burdick and sophomores James Hemmer and Bjorn Davidson collected five ground ball each, and Hemmer recorded a team-high four caused turnovers. Senior Will Bock made 22 saves in goal in his first start of the season.
• Haase (21-18-39) leads the team in scoring while sophomore Pearse Glavin (18-11-29) and Caputo (18-2-20) are also offensive standouts. Sophomore Noah Dewbrey has won 76-of-164 face-offs and picked up 37 ground balls, while Burdick (8 CT, 25 GB) is a top defender.
• Junior Matt Freitas (.591 sv. pct., 10.53 GAA) started the first eight games in goal for the Ephs.
• Williams is ranked 15th in Division III in clearing percentage (.875) and 23rd in shot percentage (.330).
SCOUTING THE PANTHERS
• No. 16 USILA/No. 19 Inside Lacrosse Middlebury (5-4), which will play at No. 19/20 Wesleyan on Saturday before coming to Babson on Sunday, is looking to bounce back from a 14-12 loss at Hamilton on Wednesday. Three of Middlebury's losses have come to nationally-ranked teams (No. 7/7 Bowdoin, No. 10/16 RPI, No. 3/3 Union) but the Panthers posted a big 21-14 triumph last Saturday over then-No. 3 Tufts.
• Juniors William Ryan and Jack Sheehan led the Panthers with three goals each against Hamilton and classmate Tyler Forbes collected three assists. Juniors Bobby Hendry and Tom Conley and first-year Patrick Jamin added a goal and an assist each in the loss.
• Junior Billy Dobensky picked up a team-high seven ground balls and senior Andrew Ng recorded three caused turnovers and three ground balls. Junior Finn O'Connor made nine saves in the Panther goal.
• First-year Billy Curtis (17-17-34) leads the team in scoring with strong support from Sheehan (22-3-25) and Ryan (19-3-22). First-year William Munroe has won 65-of-139 face-offs and Ng had collected team-highs of 23 caused turnovers and 32 ground balls.
• O'Connor (.559 sv. pct., 11.11 GAA) has started all nine games in goal for the Panthers.
BABSON IN THE NCAA RANKINGS
• Babson ranks 30th out of 244 schools in Division III in clearing percentage (.860).
• The Green and White rank 68th in scoring defense (9.44 goals per game).
BEAVER BITES
• Stucchi has scored at least one point in all nine games this spring and has five multi-point outings.
• Price has an eight-game point streak going with six straight games with multi-point performances.
• The Beavers, who finished with 13 caused turnovers on Wednesday, are now 3-0 on the year when forcing at least 10 miscues.
NUMBERS TO KNOW
• The Green and White are 5-0 this spring when leading after three quarters and have won 11 in a row going back to the start of 2020.
• Babson is also 4-1 this season when holding the opponent to eight goals or fewer, and 23-3 going back to the start of 2018.
