SERIES HISTORY
• Babson is 22-3 all-time against Clark in a series that dates back to 1994.
• The Beavers have dropped three of their last five games against the Cougars, which includes a pair of one-goal losses back in 2019.
• Since 2014, five of the eight games between Babson and Clark have been decided by a single goal, two of which finished in overtime.
LAST MEETING
• Sean Smith '21G scored three times, while graduate student Lee Sipes and junior Chi Chi Price added two goals apiece to help second-seeded Babson defeat third-seeded Clark, 13-8, in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Tournament semifinal on May 1, 2021 at MacDowell Field.
• Senior Ryan Donovan and junior Nick Solomon both finished with a goal and an assist, while Reed Goldstein '21 chipped in with two assists to lead the Beavers. Sophomore Grey Sunderland won 11-of-24 face-offs and scooped up nine ground balls in the win, and senior goalkeeper Mac Mowat finished with 10 saves.
• Jacob Brandes '21 scored three times and Chris Rasco '21G and Jack Mandracchia '21 added two goals apiece for the Cougars. Bobby Philbin '21G won 14-of-24 face-offs and led all players with 12 ground balls in the loss. Senior Ryan Mickelson made 10 of his 14 saves in the first half.
SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• RV USILA Babson (3-2, 0-1) is looking to bounce back from a 9-6 loss to Coast Guard in the NEWMAC opener last Saturday at MacDowell Field.
• Sipes scored two goals and Price tallied a goal and an assist to lead the Beavers, while sophomore Ford Carney, first-year Colt Bordonaro and junior Matt Stucchi each notched one goal. First-year Jared Lucich and junior Nick Mitchell picked up four ground balls each in the setback, and Lucich won a season-best 8-of-15 face-offs.
• Stucchi (10-1-11) and Sipes (9-2-11) top the Beavers in points, and Price (4-4-8) leads the squad in assists. Sunderland (14), junior Kyle Sanborn (14) and senior Drew Thomas (13) are the leaders in ground balls, and Sanborn (7) and Thomas (6) have caused the most turnovers.
• Mowat (.625 sv. pct., 7.33 GAA) ranks second in the NEWMAC in save percentage and fourth in goals against average.
SCOUTING THE COUGARS
• Clark (1-5) is coming off its first win of the season Wednesday, an 11-8 non-conference win at Curry in Quincy, Mass.
• Junior John D'Eufemia and sophomore Colin Howard led the Cougars with three goals apiece and senior Benjamin Hollerbach tallied two goals and two assists. Senior Steve Caione also posted two goals and one assist and sophomore Patrick Liddy chipped in with one goal and one assist.
• Hollerbach (12-6-18) leads the team in goals, assists and points, with solid support from Howard (8-2-10) and D'Eufemia (8-1-9). D'Eufemia has a team-high three man-up goals.
• Senior Mark Zito (20) leads the team in ground balls, followed by junior Zachary Conant (16) and Mickelson (12). Sophomore Keegan McMahan has collected a team-leading nine caused turnovers, and Mickelson (.507 sv. pct., 17.83 GAA) is fourth in the NEWMAC in total saves (74).
BEAVERS IN THE NCAA RANKINGS
• Mowat (7.33 GAA, .625 sv. pct.) ranks 19th in Division III in goals against average and 25th in save percentage.
• Babson ranks 28th out of 244 schools in Division III in scoring defense, allowing just 7.80 goals per game, and is also 38th in clearing percentage (.855).
DEFENSE AND FACE-OFFS
• The Beavers have not allowed double-digit goals in their first five games this season, and 10 of their last 11 games dating back to the start of last season.
• The Green and White is 22-3 when allowing eight goals or fewer going back to the 2018 campaign.
• Babson is 2-0 this spring and has won nine of its last 10 dating back to the start of the 2019 season when winning more face-offs than its opponents.
L.E.A.D WEEK
• Babson head coach Rocky Batty, his coaching staff and players are taking part in the IMLCA's L.E.A.D Week initiative by wearing branded shirts and hats on the sideline along with helmet decals during Saturday's contest.
• Started by the IMLCA's Diversity & Inclusion Committee, the mission of L.E.A.D (Listen-Educate-Act-Diversify) Week is to have a collective show of support in the mission to create an equitable and sustainable community within the sport of lacrosse where minorities will unequivocally have the chance to engage and excel in a safe and supported environment.
BEAVERS SET FOR RENNY CLASSIC
• Babson will be Clark's opponent in the fifth annual Renny Classic, which started in 2016 when Cougars' alum Whit Merritt '18 wanted to support his father Renny who was suffering from Alzheimer's Disease.

NUMBERS TO KNOW
• The Beavers have outscored their opponents 15-3 in the second quarter this season and 26-19 in the first half.
• Babson has outshot its opponents in all four quarters and overtime this spring – 46-42 in the first, 57-46 in the second, 58-49 in the third, 47-35 in the fourth, and 2-1 in OT.
