SERIES HISTORY
• Babson is 11-1 all-time against Roger Williams in a series that dates back to 1990.
• The Beavers have won the last five meetings between the teams dating back to 2015.
• The Hawks' lone victory over the Green and White came in Babson Park in 2014.
LAST MEETING
• Owen Allen '20 finished with four goals and Christopher Aranalde '20 stopped eight shots as the Beavers defeated Roger Williams, 13-1, on February 19, 2020, in Babson Park.
• John Calicchio '21 and graduate student Lee SIpes each scored twice and senior Drew Thomas was one of three players to recorded two caused turnovers for Babson, which scored 11 unanswered goals over the final 41 minutes of the contest.
• Jude Marzec scored early in the second quarter for the Hawks, who got 17 saves from Ryan Bannon.
SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• Babson returns 34 players and seven starters from a team that went 5-1 on the way to capturing the program's first NEWMAC Tournament title while breaking a 42-year NCAA Tournament drought last spring.
• The trio of seniors Ryan Donovan (10-8-28) and Peter Chisholm (12-3-15) and junior Chi Chi Price (12-1-13) combined to score 34 goals while finishing in the top three in points a season ago.
• Sophomore Grey Sunderland won 62 percent of his face-offs and scooped up a team-high 52 ground balls on the way to earning NEWMAC Rookie of the Year and all-region accolades, while Thomas picked up 21 ground balls and caused seven turnovers to lead a stout Babson defense.
• Senior goalie Mac Mowat started all six games between the pipes and ranked 10th in Division III with a .634 save percentage and 17th in goals against average (7.80).
SCOUTING THE HAWKS
• Roger Williams returns 31 players from a team that went 8-4 after falling in the CCC semifinals last spring.
• Graduate students Jared Grier (34-18-52) and Tim Mulland (21-18-39) combined for 91 points and both ranked among the top seven in the CCC in scoring, while sophomore Matt Halpin contributed 12 goals and 10 assists for 22 points.
• Sophomore Tyler Zanini led the team in both ground balls (34) and caused turnovers (22) and senior Hunter Goodrow earned all-league honors after picking up 12 ground balls and causing seven turnovers in 12 starts.
• Junior Jordan Pivarnik took just 26 of the team's 322 face-offs last spring and junior Duncan Gillis, who made just one relief appearance, is the lone returning goalie for Roger Williams.
POLL POSITION
• The Beavers were voted first on six of seven ballots and were picked to repeat when the NEWMAC released its preseason coaches' poll on Tuesday. Babson and Coast Guard both went unbeaten during the abbreviated 2021 regular season and tied for the regular season league crown.
• The Green and White also checked in at No. 4 in the NEILA regional preseason poll behind Tufts, Williams and Wesleyan.
NUMBERS TO KNOW
• Babson scored at least 13 goals in all five of its wins last year and has won its last 29 games when getting to 13, a streak that extends back to April 9, 2016.
• The Beavers have also won 15 straight contests when allowing eight goals or fewer going back to the start of the 2018-19 campaign.
• The Green and White outscored its opponents 27-9 in the first quarter of six games last spring.
