Women's Lacrosse Overpowers Clark, 15-0

Beavers Record Second Shutout Since 1996 in Lopsided Win

WORCESTER, Mass.—Senior Georgia Salvatore (Westwood, Mass.) recorded her 100th career goal and 12 different players scored as visiting Babson College blanked Clark University, 15-0, in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women's lacrosse action on Saturday afternoon at Granger Field.

With the win, Babson improves to 1-1 overall and 1-1 in league play, while Clark slips to 0-2 overall and in the NEWMAC.

Salvatore, sophomore Claudia Dodge (Pelham, N.Y.) and first-year Nicole Darveau (Sudbury, Mass.) all scored twice, while graduate students Valerie Quinlan (Norwood, Mass.) and Siobhan McDermott (North Andover, Mass.) each finished with a goal and two assists for the Beavers. Quinlan, senior Juliana McGuire (Sparta, N.J.) and sophomore Courtney Kaskey (Winnetka, Ill.) all finished recorded three draw controls and the duo of senior Cricket Fligor (Weston, Mass.) and sophomore Jane Cavanaro (Cohasset, Mass.) combined to stop all five shots they faced in the victory.

First-year Olivia Harrington (Bedford, Mass.) and sophomore Maddie Conners (Devon, Pa.) both made six saves for the Cougars.

Babson scored its first six goals on free-position shots beginning with junior Brooke Leveillee's (Longmeadow, Mass.) tally at the 25:04 mark. Kaskey and Dodge followed less than two minutes apart, while sophomore Erin Jayne (Merrimac, Mass.), Salvatore and senior Sara O'Connor (Marshfield, Mass.) added goals of their own to make it 6-0 at 17:49 of the opening stanza.

Salvatore scored her second goal of the game at 16:56, sophomore Anna Katherine Sypniewski (Vero Beach, Fla.) converted a feed from Jayne for her first career tally six minutes later and Darveau scored for the first time in her collegiate career to push the Beavers' lead to 11-0 at the break.

Quinlan, junior Sophia McCann (Duxbury, Mass.) and Dodge scored over the first eight-plus minutes of the second half before Darveau added a late tally for the final margin.

Babson outshot the hosts 33-5 and won 15 of 16 draw controls in the game. The Beavers also converted 8-of-14 free-position attempts in the contest.

Both teams return to action next Saturday as Babson hosts Coast Guard at 2 p.m., while Clark travels to Emerson at 7 p.m.

GAME NOTES
• Saturday's meeting was the first all-time between Babson and Clark.
• The shutout for Babson was the program's first since blanking Coast Guard 18-0 in 2016 and just its second since 1996.
• Salvatore is just the ninth player in Babson history to record 100 goals and 50 assists.
• The Beavers have now won 10 of their last 11 NEWMAC road games.
