Brazel, senior Jared Wiedemann (Pembroke, Mass.), juniors Michael Phillips (Richmond Heights, Ohio) and Tim Searles (Chesapeake, Va.), and sophomore Bobby Hall (Westwood, Mass.) each chipped in with an assist in the victory.

Pompa, who remained unbeaten in four career starts, made seven of his 13 saves in the first period to record his third shutout of the year. The Green and White has now blanked the Huskies in each of the last six games and has a 384:05 scoreless streak against Southern Maine going back to the second period of its 5-2 win on December 6, 2013.

Wagner opened the scoring just 73 seconds into the contest with a blast from just outside the top of the right face-off circle that beat Huskies' sophomore netminder Kyle Shapiro (Ocean, N.J.) high on the glove side for a 1-0 lead. McMorrow extended Babson's advantage to 2-0 just under four minutes later with his third goal of the year off a feed from Brazel.

Brazel notched his eighth goal of the season, and fifth point of the weekend, when he redirected Phillips' blast from the point just after the power play expired to give the Beavers a 3-0 lead 5:50 into the second period. Vollmin tallied his fourth goal of the season with a shot from just outside the blue along the right wing boards at 9:22, and Franklin scored for the third straight game, finally stuffing the puck past Shapiro on his third attempt for a 5-0 lead with 4:36 left to go in the second.

Babson held a 12-2 edge in third-period shots and killed off the only penalty of the stanza without allowing Southern Maine to attempt a shot on goal.

Shapiro finished with 35 saves for the Huskies, who were outshot 40-13 on the afternoon.
