BABSON PARK, Mass.—Four members of the Babson College men's ice hockey team were honored for their success on the ice and in the classroom when the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) announced their ninth annual Krampade All-American Scholars this week.
Junior
Will Holland (Charlotte, N.C.) was recognized for the third consecutive season, while senior
Michael Holland (Charlotte, N.C.) was honored for the second season in a row. Junior
Ryan Murphy (Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich.) and sophomore
Mason Rosado (Weddington, N.C.) both earned AHCA Krampade All-America Scholar accolades for the first time in their respective careers. The Beavers' quartet was among 664 Division II-III players recognized.
To qualify for AHCA Krampade All-American Scholars accolades, a student-athlete must have attained a 3.75 grade-point average in each semester during the 2023-24 season while appearing in at least 40 percent of the team's games.
A transfer from Miami University (Ohio),
Michael Holland appeared in nine games this past winter. His lone goal of the season was a big one as he notched the first of four unanswered tallies at 13:43 of the second period as Babson rallied for a 4-2 win at UMass Boston to complete a weekend sweep of the Beacons on February 8.
Will Holland appeared in all 26 games for the second consecutive season and ranked first among Beavers' defensemen in scoring with two goals and five assists for seven points. He scored the go-ahead goal at 15:38 of the third period in the February 8 win at UMass Boston, and also led the team with 27 blocked shots on the year.
Murphy joined
Will Holland as one of five players to see action in all 26 games last winter and tied for fifth on the team in scoring with four goals and eight assists for 12 points. He tied for the team lead and matched his career high with three power play goals.
Rosado made 10 starts between the pipes in 2024-25 going 4-5-1 with a 3.59 goals against average and a .872 save percentage. He made 29 saves in a 2-1 win over Southern Maine on November 22 and turned away a season-high 39 shots to help the Beavers secured a 3-3 overtime tie at Tufts on November 26.
Babson concluded the year at 13-11-2 after falling to New England College in the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) quarterfinals back in March.
