Box Score GORHAM, Maine -- Southern Maine goalie Braely Torris made 31 saves to earn the shutout as the Huskies blanked visiting Babson College, 6-0, in an ECAC East ice hockey contest on Saturday afternoon.
With the loss, the Beavers fell to 3-6-0 overall and 3-3-0 in ECAC East play, while USM improved to 3-4-0 overall and 3-3-0 in the conference.
Six different players netted goals for the Huskies, beginning with first-period scores from Matt Tuccieri and Troy Thibodeau. Matt MacDonald and David Nies then potted goals in the first 4:13 of the second to go up 4-0, and a goal by Ryan Seward later in the second and a tally by Stephen Gallo early in the third completed the 6-0 Husky win.
Senior goalie Andrew Peabody played the first 24:13 in net and made 10 saves for Babson, while sophomore Danny Rivellini came on in relief and made 20 stops - 16 of which came in the third period. USM held a 36-31 advantage in shots in the contest.
