It was Ahern's second assist of the night, while Woods also picked up his second.

The Beavers pushed their advantage to 3-0 midway through the second period, as Woods stole the puck behind the Purple Knights' net and fed senior Chris Wood (Medford, Mass.) in front for a short-handed goal at 9:39. St. Michael's got one goal back just under four minutes later, as junior Glenn Belmore (Cornwall, Ontario) took a feed from senior assistant captain Alex Higgins (Phoenix, Ariz.) at the blue line and wristed a shot into the upper right corner at 13:26.

Woods capped off his brilliant night with Babson's second short-handed goal of the contest at 2:34 of the third, as he stole the puck at his own blue line, went the length of the ice, and scored on the breakaway to finish off the 4-1 Babson victory.
