BABSON PARK, Mass. - Babson juniors Kaitlyn Pettengill
(Hopkinton, Mass.) and Anna Collins (Winchester,
Mass.) combined for thirteen goals as the Beavers defeated
visiting Endicott College 20-7 on Saturday afternoon at MacDowell
Field. With the win, Babson improves to 10-2 on the season and
Endicott is now 10-4.
In the first half, Endicott's Valerie Feldman (Albany, N.Y.)
scored the first goal of the game at the 28:12 mark. It didn't take
the Beavers long to answer back while going on a 6-0 run to put
them up 6-1 with 24:50 remaining in the half. Endicott put two more
goals on the board to bring the Gulls to within three, 6-3, but
Babson then went on another run scoring four unanswered goals to
put the Beavers up 10-3. An unassisted goal by Feldman with 1:13
remaining resulted in the 10-4 halftime score.
Endicott scored two of the first three goals in the second half
to cut their deficit to five but the Gulls would get no closer as
Babson went on to score the next four goals to extend their lead,
15-6, en route to the 20-7 Babson victory.
