A 2011 graduate of the University of Massachusetts-Lowell, Sarah Coscia is in her 12th season as an assistant coach for the Babson women's volleyball program in 2025.
The Beavers, who set a school record with 33 victories in 2019, have won four NEWMAC Tournament championships and made eight NCAA Tournament appearances during her tenure. The Green and White reached the second round in both 2014 and 2015 before advancing to the Potsdam Regional final in 2017. Babson put together another historic campaign in 2018 as it swept three straight matches at home to capture the Babson Park Regional title on the way to advancing to the national quarterfinals for the first time in school history.Â
The Green and White followed it up by earning the top seed in the NEWMAC Tournament for the first time in program history in 2019. The momentum continued in 2021 when the Beavers shared the NEWMAC regular season crown and won a first-round match in the NCAA Tournament. The Beavers made it six consecutive NCAA Tournaments in 2023 and earned its third straight first-round victory.
Coscia enjoyed a stellar playing career at UMass-Lowell where she finished fourth in program history with 1,321 kills and fifth in blocks with 306. She led the Northeast-10 Conference in scoring during her senior season and was a first-team All-Conference selection as both a junior and a senior. Coscia also earned All-New England honors in 2009.
Her post-collegiate playing career continued as a member of Team New England, the region's professional volleyball squad. The team competed in the Premier Volleyball League Championship as part of the 2014 USA Volleyball Open National Championship in Phoenix, Ariz.
The Pittsfield, Massachusetts, native currently serves as the freshman girls coach and JV boys coach at Wellesley High School and has also served as the coach of the 17-and-under boys team in the SMASH Volleyball Club.
