Tim Mason is in his ninth season as an assistant women’s soccer coach at Babson in 2025 and his fourth year as a full-time assistant.
Since joining the Babson staff prior to the 2017 season, Mason has helped Beavers to five NEWMAC Tournament semifinal appearances and one championship game berth to go along with one NCAA Tournament appearance. The team recorded its highest winning percentage (.605) in six years in 2021 while recording nine consecutive shutouts to end the season and followed that up with a 14-4-1 record (.763) and its first national ranking in 2022 and a visit to the NCAA Tournament in 2023, the program's first since 2015.
An experienced coach with over a decade of experience, Mason served as the Metro Boston Director of Coaching for the New England Surf Soccer Club since 2020. Prior to joining New England Surf, he worked for Global Premier Soccer (GPS) from 2008-14 and coached for the Scorpions Soccer Club from 2014-20.
In addition to his club experience, Mason had a highly-successful stint as the boys varsity soccer coach at Wellesley High School from 2010-18. He led his teams to four league titles and nine consecutive MIAA Tournament appearances, culminating with the Raiders winning the 2018 Division I South sectional title to advance to the state championship game. Additionally, Mason was selected as the 2017 Eastern Massachusetts Soccer Coaches Association (EMSCA) Division I South Coach of the Year and earned Boston Globe Coach of the Year honors in 2018.
A native of Northampton, England, Mason played three years of collegiate soccer while earning his bachelor's degree in sports and exercise science from De Montfort University in Leicester, England.
