David Lang is in his seventh season as an assistant men's basketball coach at Babson College in 2023-24 after joining the program in April 2017.

After making a pair of NEWMAC Tournament semifinal appearances over his first three seasons, the Beavers matched their best start in program history on the way to going 20-7 and returning to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2017 in 2019-20. The Green and White won the New England Big 4 Challenge and was ranked as high as 12th in the D3hoops.com national poll in late December. He helped the Beavers to the NCAA Tournament for the sixth and seventh times in the past nine seasons in 2022 and 2023, advancing to the second round in 2022.

Lang came to Babson from Lexington High School, where he served as an assistant varsity boys basketball coach from 2009-13 and as an assistant for the junior varsity program in 2016-17. He also served as the director of the Lexington Youth Basketball Association from 2008-15.

A four-year member of the men’s basketball team at Harvard University from 1985-89, Lang played in 88 career games for the Crimson and averaged 3.8 points and 3.0 rebounds. He graduated cum laude with a B.A. in economics and later earned his MBA from the Harvard Business School in 1995.

Lang worked at TA Associates in Boston for over two decades before becoming a managing partner at Hickory Lane Associates in Lexington in 2015. He also serves on the board of trustees at Lahey Medical Center in Burlington.
