Hailey Fouche (Montclair, N.J.) led all players with 11 kills and classmate
Zoe Ackerman (Aurora, Colo.) handed out 36 assists to help Babson College sweep visiting Lasell College, 25-17, 27-25, 25-16, in non-conference women's volleyball action on Tuesday night inside Staake Gymnasium.
With the win, Babson improves to 3-0 while Lasell has dropped five consecutive matches to slip to 1-5 on the year.
Fouche hit .500, first-year
Lia Gonzalez (Miami, Fla.) provided nine kills while hitting .533 and junior
Angelina Holm (Denver, Colo.) added six kills and two blocks to pace the Beavers. Sophomores
Liberty May (Grapevine, Texas) and
Ailsa Munro (Sylmar, Calif.) chipped in with four kills apiece, May led all players with four aces and junior
Sabina Frosk (Coppell, Texas) had six digs in the victory.
First-year Nadia Shloul (Upton, Mass.) recorded nine kills and sophomore Estella Feenstra (Stratford, Conn.) to lead the Lasers. Senior Shantte Siliezar (Puerto Cortes, Honduras) contributed eight assists, three blocks and three digs, while junior Trinity Silva (Atascadero, Calif.) doled out 11 assists over the first two sets.
The Green and White hit .524 in the opening set and got a block by Ackerman and Holm, a service ace from sophomore
Misaki Harte (San Jose, Calif.) and a kill by Holm during a five-point run that pushed its lead to 18-12. Lasell closed to within four twice before Munro helped put the frame away with a pair of kills.
Game two featured 12 ties and six lead changes with the teams never separated by more than four points. The Lasers took their largest lead at 20-16 on a kill by Shloul and used a block by Siliezar and first-year Piper Lee (Bigfork, Mont.) as well as kills by fellow rookie Reese Kwiatek (Beverly, Mass.) and Lee for a 24-22 advantage. The Beavers responded by scoring five of the next six points including back-to-back kills by senior
Nora Whitehurst (Atlanta, Ga.) and first-year
Maya Foley (Allentown, N.J.) to forge a two-set lead in the match.
Leading 12-11 in the third, Babson took advantage of a Lasell error and then got two kills from Fouche, an ace from Harte and another kill by Holm to extend the margin to 17-11. May sandwiched two more service aces inside kills by Fouche and Gonzalez to make it 22-13 and the hosts closed out the match thanks to a trio of errors by the Lasers.
Babson returns to action on Friday when it takes on No. 9 Johns Hopkins at 6:30 p.m. to open the Bomber Invitational in Ithaca, N.Y. Lasell is off until Saturday when it hosts Elms and Endicott starting at 11 a.m.

Eric Neely, now in his 16th season at Babson, earned his 150th career win inside Staake Gymnasium on Tuesday night.
