Women's Volleyball vs. Lasell

SERIES HISTORY
•    Babson is 12-1 all-time against Lasell in a series that dates back to 2001.
•    The Beavers have won six consecutive matches versus the Lasers going back to 2008 although last season's contest was the first between the teams since 2018.
•    All 13 matches between Babson and Lasell have been decided in three sets. 

LAST MEETING
•    Isabella Allen '26 led all players with 13 kills and senior Zoe Ackerman provided 39 assists, seven digs, six kills and four blocks to help Babson record a tight three-set sweep (38-36, 25-22, 25-23) of Lasell on September 19, 2025, in Newton, Mass. 
•    Senior Hailey Fouche and sophomore Devon Burke both registered eight kills and junior Angelina Holm and sophomore Ailsa Munro added seven kills apiece for the Beavers, who hit .290 as a team in the victory. 
•    Morgan Bogli recorded 11 kills, four blocks and four aces, Trinity Silva and Shanette Siliezar both had nine kills, and Sydney Katz dished out 22 assists to go along with seven digs for the Lasers, who made just 12 errors and hit .301 in the loss. 

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
•    Babson (2-0) opened the season with a pair of three-set wins over Neumann and Roger Williams on Saturday at the Roger Williams Invitational. 
•    Fouche and first-year Lia Gonzalez combined for 21 kills and hit .679 in the victory over Neumann, and six different players recorded at least four kills while Ackerman provided 30 assists and eight digs in the sweep of Roger Williams. 
•    The Beavers return 15 players from last year's squad that went 23-8 and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament, highlighted by AVCA All-America honorable mention selections Fouche (2.35 k/s), junior Angelina Holm (2.01 k/s, 0.88 b/s, .331 hitting pct.) and Ackerman (8.98 a/s, 1.91 d/s). 
•    Munro led the Green and White in both total blocks (98) and blocks per set (0.91), while junior Sabina Frosk finished third on the team in both total digs (225) and digs per set (1.86). 

SCOUTING THE LASERS
•    Lasell (1-4) has dropped its last four matches and closed out a trip to southern California with a 3-0 loss to No. 23 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Saturday. 
•    Piper Lee finished with six kills, Silva handed out 15 assists and Analee Ronas contributed eight digs for the Lasers, who were limited to just 23 kills and a .052 hitting percentage by the Athenas. 
•    Siliezar is averaging 3.00 kills and 2.00 digs per set, Estella Feenstra is second on the team in both kills (2.84) and points per set (3.13) and Caroline Merolle is providing 2.05 kills per set. 
•    Michelle French is averaging 1.05 blocks per set, Silva is handing out 8.05 assists per set and Ronas leads the squad in both total digs (78) and digs per set (3.68). 

RECORD-SETTING FIRST SET
•    The Beavers' 38-36 first-set triumph last season against Lasell was the highest scoring in program history surpassing 34-32 wins over UMass Boston (2001) and WPI (2004) and a 34-32 loss to Mount Holyoke in 2003.
•    The game featured 20 ties and 10 lead changes with Babson and the Lasers combining to hit .351 with 46 kills. 
•    The Beavers were within a point of closing out the set 10 times before closing out the frame on a block by Fouche and Munro at 37-36, and also fended off four Lasell set points. 

ACKERMAN JOINS 3,000 ASSIST CLUB
•    With 30 assists in each of Babson's victories on Saturday, Ackerman joined Kathleen Lynch '13 and Elizabeth Cameron '20 as one of just three players in program history to surpass 3,000 career assists. 

ACES ARE WILD
•    Sophomore Liberty May set a new career high with seven service aces in Saturday's victory over Neumann, while classmate Misaki Harte followed it up with a career-best six aces in the Beavers' win over Roger Williams. 
•    Ackerman finished with a pair of aces in each of the wins and now has at least one service ace in 21 consecutive matches dating back to last season. 

LOOKING BACK ON 2025
•    Led by head coach Eric Neely, who is now in his 16th season at Babson, the Beavers surpassed 20 wins for the eighth consecutive season while reaching the NEWMAC Tournament final for the first time since 2022 and the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the ninth time since 2014. 
•    The Beavers ranked 37th in Division III in hitting percentage (.225) and 44th in blocks per set (2.01), and six of their eight losses came against teams that ranked in the top 11 of the final NPI rankings. 
•    Ackerman set a new single-season record with 1,086 assists and also served up 74 aces, which were just three shy of the single-season program record and the most by any Babson player since 2001. 
•    Munro's 98 blocks were the third-most in single-season history, while Holm is now fourth on the single-season charts in hitting percentage (.331) and fifth in total blocks (93). 
•    The duo of Munro and Holm became the first in Babson history to record at least 90 blocks in the same season.

POLL POSITION
•    After recording its best conference record in program history (10-1) last fall, Babson was picked to finish second when the NEWMAC released its preseason coaches' poll back in August. 
•    The Beavers, who have finished either first or second six times in eight seasons going back to 2017, totaled 110 points to come in behind reigning conference champions MIT, which received 11 first-place votes. 
•    The Green and White also received the second-highest point total (155) of any team outside the AVCA Division III Preseason Top 25, which was released last week.  

NUMBERS TO KNOW
•    The Beavers went 8-1 at home last season and are now 149-30 going back to 2011 under Neely. 
•    Babson, which hit .500 in the win over Neumann and .326 against Roger Williams, is now 56-1 when it finishes with a hitting percentage of .200 or better dating back to the start of the 2023 campaign.
•    The Green and White had 14 aces in each of last Saturday's wins and are 31-2 since the start of the 2024 season when it records at least 10 service aces. 
•    Babson is 67-7 since 2019 in the month of September.

•    The Beavers travel to Ithaca, N.Y., to take part in the Bomber Invitational where they will face 11th-ranked Johns Hopkins on Friday and No. 20 Carnegie Mellon and No. 18 Ithaca on Saturday.
